The Darkseid OVERsize Special

I've recently gotten a chance to read the big Darksied one shot and I was very disappointed to say the very least. The book portrayed Darkseid as cowardly and pathetic. It portrays Darkseid living in fear of the mortals on his own fucking planet! Darkseid is the ULTIMATE villain of the entire DC Universe. He's the one seeking out the means to end the ENTIRE UNIVERSE as we know it and rebuilt it from the ashes in his image. The Entity is the Alpha and he is the Omega.

In this One Shot Darkseid is desperate to keep a bunch of feeble rebels ON HIS HOME WORLD OF APOCALYPSE from inspiring the mortals of Apocalypse from rising up against him. Darkseid is a god of cosmic destructive power. he has nothing to fear from these people regardless of what they think about anything.

This story could have made sense, heck this story could have been really good if it had taken place on a world somewhere outside "The Fourth World" where the New Gods reside. A group of people on one of the countless random worlds in Darkseid's empire being overlooked by someone low in Darksied's chain of command COULD rise up to take back their independence. Earth Prime has repelled Darksied's advances several times, it's not out of the question other worlds in the same universe could do it too.

Unfortunately this story DID take place on Apocalypse and it DIDN'T make any sense. Darkseid should have absolutely no problem controlling a rag tag band of mortals with no powers right under his nose on his home terf. At the end of the story a humanoid mortal girl tricks him into admitting that all tyrants (including him) live in fear of their own people) WTF is that bullshit?!! Darkseid is not comparable to the likes of Muammar Gaddafi, Mussolini, or even Hitler. He is Darkseid Lord of Apocalypse and the most fearsome of the New Gods!

All the writers involved with this piece of shit should be fired before they fuck up anything else in the DC Universe. DC just rebooted again. these are the kinds of mistakes DC can't afford right now. They need to be able to maintain a consistent easy to digest status quo for a reasonable amount of time so they don't have to reboot yet again in five years.
