Dragon Ball: Bulma
Through out the Dragon Ball saga there is iconic characters; though few of them have been as influential as one Bulma Briefs. As one of the main characters Bulma has had one of the longest appearance rates in the show and has had a hand in almost every aspect of the entire series. Bulma is the younger daughter of Dr. Brief and his wife Panchy; she also has an older sister named Tights though she is rarely mentioned. Bulma despite not having any fighting ability has managed to remain in the thick of many conflicts thanks to her genius level intellect and engineering skills. She develops and maintains most of the technology in the world with her father with their company Capsule Corp.
Bulma starts her journey at the very beginning of Dragon Ball having already discovered the existence of the Dragon Balls. She invented the dragon radar as an aid in tracking down these 7 mystical orbs. As she's collecting them she ends up in a very rural area in search of what is later revealed to be the 4-star dragon ball. That's when she runs into (literally) Goku for the first time. Goku being isolated all this time mistakes Bulmas vehicle as a monster and wrecks it.
They eventually work it out and Goku joins Bulma in her quest for the dragon balls. This leads on to several misadventures that culminate in Bulma getting her wish with out using the dragon balls. Bulma would continue to support Goku and her then boyfriend Yamcha against a verity of foes including the Red Ribbon Army and King Piccolo. Near the end of the Dragon Ball series there is a short time skip and the Piccolo Jr saga.
When Dragon Ball Z started Bulma had matured as a scientist even further. In order to get to Planet Namek Bulma and her father reverse engineered alien craft to create their own space craft. Bulma, Krillian and Gohan would end up using one of the alien ships she restored as an advance guard to Namek. Goku would follow later in her finished craft completed by her father. On Namek Bulma took care of the ship and communications while Krillian and Gohan searched for the dragon balls there.
After much trials and tribulations she met a troublesome frog who was really a alien being (Captain Ginyu) who had the ability to swap bodies. Bulma invented a device that would allow the frog to communicate allowing Ginyu to swap bodies with her. The Z fighters would eventually sort out that mess and she'd get her body back. During the fight with Frieza she was left on her own but would eventually with many others be wished back to Earth.
It was this time she slowly started to develop a relationship with Vegeta. This would blossom into far more with them having a child named Trunks, though it is never shown it is implied that at some point they married as well. This leads up to the Android Saga where she ends up rebuilding one of Dr. Gero's androids. This Android called android 16 is a fully mechanical type and is supposedly modeled after Gero's son. 16 is fully repaired and is said to be stronger as well.
After the Cell Games Bulma designs Gohans super hero outfit. At the world martial arts tournament she ends up having to search for the dragon balls due to Vegeta's heel turn. She would end up on Kami's look out and end up being eaten by an incarnation of Buu. Shortly after being ressurected she gives her energy to Goku so he can form the spirit bomb to defeat Kid Buu.Then starts the events depicted in Dragon Ball Super.
Bulma is a beautiful young woman with brains to match. Her temperamental attitude is often cause for more fear than even series bad guy Frieza; Goku, Vegeta and many others have been on the wrong end of her temper but it is rarely misdirected. Despite this she is generally kind and warm hearted. Her actions through out the series have typically been beneficial and have lead to many innovations including a time machine in the future Trunks timeline. Though this is but a short compilation of her accomplishments she has proven herself a worthy friend and great companion whom without Dragon Ball would be missing a key element.
