Okay, people of Minds, let me begin this post with what this picture is. It is of me with a sign I have since hung on my Christmas tree, a sign I got from a co-worker as a gift for my 3 years of hard work and productivity. Frankly, I am glad to have survived 2017, and of course this post is going to be a bunch of gratitude, and then my wish for you guys & gals is going to be at the very end. Let me express this gratitude in the form of answering questions I can see you folks asking me....

Was 2017 the worst year ever?

No, not really. It had many, many aspects of it that were either straight up barbaric or straight up animalistic, but those did not ruin 2017 for me. Having a bigger 9/11 in Wallingford or Southington would have ruined 2017 for me.  Organically I am intensely grateful that never happened. And I single out them because I am a Connecticut guy in the town of Cheshire.

Likewise, 2016 had many, many aspects of it that I felt were problems but I don't think those problems ruined that year for me, either.

How did 2017 go for you?

It started off horrendously for me but towards the very end, now that we are towards the very end, I can say that I have slowly but surely gotten far better in the head than I was at the beginning of this year. This I am eternally grateful for as I know I always have room for self-improvement, and I realize I am not going to be perfect at least until I pass away from hitting my 90's of aging, perhaps.

What do you want to get done in 2018?

Firstly, I want to find love, as in a girlfriend. I am very grateful and happy with my four best friends who I am only mentioning by first name to respect their privacy: Zach, Jason, Jacob and Mike. But at the same time I am willing to learn and apply whatever social skills I need, as someone with Asperger's, in order to find a girlfriend.

And If I didn't already tell you, Asperger's is a social skills handicap that makes dedicated research and basic human decency easier at the cost of making interpersonal skills and communication skills harder.

During January ~ April of 2018 I desire to save all the money I can for a 'Hot Season vacation', which is me doing all the travel I can whenever it is hot, sunny and gorgeous outdoors.

While building the vacation budget, and whenever indoors, I wish to crank out a new episode of 'The Libertarian Legion', my podcast, almost every day, and I wish to make my mod for Battle for Middle-earth 2, a strategy video game from 2006, ready for the people of ModDB and of Minds by the end of 2018. Perhaps I will release Empire of the East Patch 1; as 'Empire of the East' is this mod's title, on Halloween of 2018.

And, with regards to college, I am going to sign onto the classes I need in Fall Semester 2018 for an Associate Degree in Computer Science, so I can get a Software development job after Spring Semester of 2020.

Thank you Minds...

...for being the absolute best platform for me to get my ideas out onto the internet! I am of course eternally grateful you exist, and special thanks to Bill Ottman for creating it and even bigger thanks to Carl Benjamin [I know he calls himself Sargon of Akkad here but I think its more sensible to call him his actual name] for linking me to this website in November of 2016! I have been here for so far 25 months and I love it!

Merrily Mindful Christmas!
