Three-wheelers can legally be classed as tricycles without the motor. The first three-wheeler is the 1895 Benz Patent Motorwagen. Three wheeler could be configured to delta (one front and two back) or tadpole (two front and one back).
Reliant Robin
The Reliant Robin had a production-run from 1973-2002. This car was designed to save you money £55 more per year than a conventional car because you can use a motorbike licence to tax it. How it does that is it weighs 450kg to count as a tricycle.
One problem. When it corners the car rolls over when you corner it. This car has been the butt joke of pop-culture, no wonder this car is a death trap but Jeremy Clarkson had fun in it anyway.
Morgan Three-wheeler
The Morgan three-wheeler's production run from 2012 onward. The weight of the three-wheeler is 500kg. This, on the other hand, doesn't roll thanks to tadpole, where the drivers can't roll as easily.
This is a fun car to drive especially sideways and doing doughnuts. At least the Morgan three-wheeler has great reviews from the public, critics alike. This isn't an everyday car. It's unconformable, impracticable and understeers but I'm ok with the disadvantages to have fun.
Conclusion!!
From delta to tadpole three-wheeler's are an alternative to conventional cars. They may be fun or flat-out dangerous. The Reliant Robin was designed to fit in the motorbike taxes and Morgan three-wheeler it's one purpose is fun.
What's your favourite car out of the Reliant Robin or Morgan Three Wheeler? Mines the Three Wheeler because built for fun. Thanks for reading and On That Bombshell goodnight.
