Arbitrator: progressive christianity
I crossed path with the progressive Christian movement even as I knew it been around for some time I had said nothing about yet as I had not given it much thought seeing there was bigger fish to fry in this war of ideas. Found an article call 8 points of progressive christianity which I had to just shack my head at after reading it from both a rational point of view to a point of view from my Christian Faith so let’s get started.
1. Believe that following the path and teachings of Jesus can lead to an awareness and experience of the Sacred and the Oneness and Unity of all life;
First off the way they talk about Jesus is just like most of the other religions do that he was great teacher & nothing more even islam believe that to not believe he was the Son of God & God in the flesh denies a corner stone of the Christian Faith which open door that do not go anyplace good, last part sounds like there just trying to make give you a good feeling like so many on the alt-left this days only care about.
2. Affirm that the teachings of Jesus provide but one of many ways to experience the Sacredness and Oneness of life, and that we can draw from diverse sources of wisdom in our spiritual journey;
Yet again they talk as if Jesus was just some great teacher as to say he was not God in the flesh then they start down that path that sounds more like the alt-left these days ‘that it’s ok there many different ways to live your life none of them are bad’ yet from a Christian view there is only one way to God. (John 14:6-7)
3. Seek community that is inclusive of ALL people, including but not limited to:
• Conventional Christians and questioning skeptics,
• Believers and agnostics,
• Women and men,
• Those of all sexual orientations and gender identities,
• Those of all classes and abilities;
If this does not just scream social justice I don’t know what does & yet in Christian Faith there are things we are told by God that are wrong & yes this could start a large “discussion” but this is not the point of this. God himself said there are Men & Woman no more no less & has given each sex there role in life which is very easily seen thru science & the everyday with the differences of the sexes.
4. Know that the way we behave towards one another is the fullest expression of what we believe;
In truth there is not much one could say against this if you take it as face value it the golden rule yet if you add what has come before it this takes on a new look with social justices believes it becomes hard to except it at face value.
5. Find grace in the search for understanding and believe there is more value in questioning than in absolutes;
First I think the word grace is bad choice there yet I know Christian buzzword when I hear one & it seems there just trying hide the meaning what they’re saying. It feels like the last word absolutes is talking about the Bible in which for a Christian is the word of God given to us to better understand him & what he has set in this world which leads to the point 2 as there many ways to God to in which I say John 14:6-7.
6. Strive for peace and justice among all people;
Well I’ll say it again just scream social justice which leads to other doors a Christian should not open.
7. Strive to protect and restore the integrity of our Earth;
As Christian we are told to take care of the Earth but this is just more of the leftist “save the earth” that has gotten out of control of late & has no real understanding of how the earth works then they have understanding of what gender is.
8. Commit to a path of life-long learning, compassion, and selfless love.
Like 4 point you there not much to say about this yet when you add what comes before it one must take step back read this again this sounds like leftist see no evil hear no evil comments they make about the bad things that happen in the world.
To finish this off this is just my opine on what I found yet as a Christian I believe I have the right to call out others that say they are of my Faith yet clearly are not by what they say. Thank you if you read all of this & I hope it gives you something to think about.
