What's happening to kindness and empathy?

As today I write my first blog, I find myself wondering what is happening to the world, I grew up in a village in rural England where we could go out and play with our friends and our parents always knew.  I grew up in a good community based on close knitted communication, it seems like a era passed now, where your friends mum would feed you and watch over you as you played instead nowadays it's more about staying in, even today I see so much cruelty in the world and try and change the world for the better, yet empaths and kindness is frowned upon nowadays. You do a kindness towards a fellow human being and your instantly judged by the fact you did something for someone else and people think you do it for something, well yes we do it because we want to bring someone some hope or happiness but now people just think your a weirdo because of what you feel you should do, I know people have bad experiences but honestly what's wrong with giving some happiness to this cruel world..... It's a shame that empaths and kind-hearted people are instantly made suspicious of, how far have we regressed back to the era where we are always thinking negative of people......
