"As within so without, as above so below"

 

This is arguably the greatest teaching from Hermes Trismegistus, why?

Well, lets break it down.

This can be interpreted in many ways and they are for the most part all correct as it is philosophical in nature.

It can be used to describe the fact that the macro (universe) reflects the micro (atom or quantum level) but I am focusing on the personal impact for an individual's life, the "as within, so without part"

 

For when there is war around us we must seek peace within

when there is confusion around us we must seek truth within

when there is chaos around us we must seek balance within

when there is fear around us we must seek love within

for we must be the change we want to see in the world, we are not able to infringe on others free will to conduct such acts but we can certainly influence them.

The fact that an individual or group meditating on an intention has a scientifically proven effect on others within a certain radius dependent on the amount of participants.

To determine how many people are needed to work together for effect in that community, the formula suggests the following:

1. Determine the total number of people present.

2. Calculate 1 percent of that total number (multiply the total from above by .01).

3. Calculate the square root of the 1 percent (enter the number from step 2 and press the “√“ function on your calculator.

This formula produces numbers that are smaller than we might expect. For example, in a city of 1 million people, the number is about 100. In a world of 6 billion people, the number is only about 8,000. And this number represents only the minimum needed to begin the process. The more people that are involved, the faster the effect is created. 

While these and similar studies obviously deserve more exploration, they show that there’s an effect here that’s beyond chance.

 

This phenomenon is called the Maharishi effect and has been reproduced thousands of times to great and measurable effect.

 

So never underestimate the power of YOU the IAM as your thoughts and actions have a larger impact than you may have realised.
