Always travel with a doorstop.

When visiting a hotel I always carry a doorstop with me. This alows me to wedge the door shut as I sleep. I cannot rely upon the lock as the management hold the master.

This is the most simple kind of prepping. Practical, unobjectionable and justifyable.
