The problem with "maturity"

What is maturity? Some define it similar to humility, others associated it with marriage and parenthood. But, mostly, everyone associates it with age. They associate it with age that the meaning of "respect your elders" has change into "parents are always right; can never be wrong", which, obviously, is nonesense. Just because you're older than me, doesn't mean you're not a dumbass. I have seen a lot of parents, in and below the poverty line that, instead of helping to raise their children into productive citizens, tell their children to buy them some beer (hence, I don't think parenthood is for everyone). Age is a terrible indicator of maturity.

According to psychology, "Maturity is the ability to respond to the environment in an appropriate manner. This response is generally learned rather than instinctive. Maturity also encompasses being aware of the correct time and place to behave and knowing when to act, according to the circumstances and the culture of the society one lives in. Adult development and maturity theories include the purpose in life concept, in which maturity emphasizes a clear comprehension of life's purpose, directedness, and intentionality, which contributes to the feeling that life is meaningful."

In other words, to be mature is look normal, in the eyes of society. Does that mean infuential people are wierdos? Well, except for celebrities nowadays, yes they are (example of this is Nikola Tesla). However,  there are double standards: for example, if a man shows no interest in women, he's either called a fag or a misogynist. However, if a woman shows no interest in men, she is exalted, titled as strong and independent; calling her a lesbian would make a mob to lynch you.

Speaking of women and maturity, I keep hearing that "women mature faster than men". Coming from personal observations (I can't find studies to support this data; it would be called 'sexist' by the media), I can confidently say women act like children. Women are allowed to express their emotions, regardless of its violence, while men are told to suck it up. Society expects us to do everything for females, yet men are shamed when we expect something in return. Because of this, men are now finding outlets alternative to women.

Outlets, especially porn and video games, are what consrvatives blame for the increase of, so-called, "manchildren". This is similar to liberals, blaming guns on "mass shootings". Instead of blaming the alternative outlets (an outright ban won't get rid of those outlets; goes underground. It's Economics 101), they should investigate why men are using these alternative outlets, and try to make marriage a better deal, compared to the alternatives.

But, instead of improving the product, conservatives double down. They tried to ban porn, video games, and added exclusive rights and benefits to married people and families. What they did is similar to protectionism. Those who advocate marriages are the worst; Dennis Prager is currently married with his 3rd wife. Female conservative are no better, if not, a lot worse than feminists: They both blame men. But, only female conservatives are the ones shoving the shit deal called marriage down our throats.

If to be mature is to be  chained and forced to comform, I don't want to be mature.
