New Elysium

*story inspired by the song "Breakout" - Celldweller*

"Humanity never changes. We escaped into the stars, spread far and wide. We even got over our prejudices. But then we invent new ones, because we've got to hate something." - Red

Once an officer in the military tasked with guarding the boarders of humanities ever expanding Empire into space, Red now rots in the Helion 7 prison complex, guilty of simply being an "augment."

Torn between revenge and dreaming of escape Red meets another prisoner with all the right tools to help him get out. Ember is a mysterious woman with capabilities that Red can only dream of. But she's also an elite, from Neo-Tokyo, the government who put them all in prison in the first place.

But Ember has picked up a signal beaming from New Elysium, a place where augments can find refuge. She may be the only one who can fly them safely past the Empire and out into space.

The only question remaining is can Red keep her alive long enough to get them there when her very identity would mean the death of her from all sides?
