I've loved photography since I got my first camera when I was 10. I combine my love of photography with my love for hiking and road trips.
Photography is strictly a hobby with me. I've owned so many cameras (both film and digital) and I have terabytes of photos and many strips of negatives. I'm going through my digital photos and sharing my favorites with you here in MINDS. I also use my own photos for banners and avatars (my own avatar was obviously taken by someone else, but with my camera.)
My very first post here in MINDS was a photo in the Cloud Photos group. I've also joined other photography-related groups, as well as created my own public photography-related groups. I created my own groups (open to everyone; please join) because eventually when the MINDS population grows, it will be necessary to specialize or be overwhelmed with photos.
I only use 2 cameras today: my iPhone and my digital SLR. Most of my photos today are taken with the iPhone since I have it with me all of the time. I only carry and use my digital SLR when I plan on doing photography. It is heavy and seems to be getting heavier.
I used to be a strict fanatic against post processing my photos. Probably because I couldn't be bothered to learn how to use the processing tools. Laziness. I still don't know how to use Photoshop, although I've tried.
I changed my mind about post processing when I noticed that my photos weren't matching what I was seeing. The human eyes are so much better than any camera capturing depth, light and color. So now, I post process my photos. But not all.
The photo editor that comes with the iPhone is great. I'll use it to "enhance" and adjust brightness. BTW, the iPhone is great for panoramas. I'm still on the fence with "live" photos. I don't use filters and I normally shoot without flash and with HDR enabled.
I shoot raw format with my digital SLR because it gives me plus/minus 3 EV. I use Canon's DPP (Digital Photo Professional) to process my photos and convert them to JPEGS. Other post processing software I use are Photomatix (for HDR processing) and Pixelmator (which is Photoshop "lite").
Oh, I also like to drink beer, wine, and Cognac (Rémy Martin). And other things.
