One of the most untold stories in the world is that of human child trafficking.  Young boys and girls around the world are sold into a dark world of sexual slavery, though the news rarely rears its ugly head on television.

Ashton Kutcher, world famous actor and humanitarian, has been deep at work uncovering and protecting children that have been taken into the hideous world of sex trafficking.

At a US Senate hearing, he delivered a powerful speech about the importance of what he is doing.

He opened with the following:

I’m here today to defend the right to pursue happiness. It’s a simple notion. It’s bestowed upon all of us by our Constitution. Every citizen in this country has the right to pursue it and I believe that is incumbent upon us as citizens of this nation, as Americans, to bestow that right upon others. Upon each other and upon the rest of the world. But the right to pursue happiness, for so many, is stripped away. It’s raped. It’s abused. It’s taken by force, fraud, or coercion. It is sold for the momentary happiness of another.

Kutcher is the chairman and co-founder of Thorn, a company that builds software to fight human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of children.  His emotional description of his experiences caught the attention of the Senate and those in attendance.
