Since Heather Bresch, CEO of Mylan pharmaceuticals, purchased the rights to the Epi-pen in 2007, the prices have consistently gone up every year.  When it started, the wholesale price was $56.64.  It has since increased to $317.82.

This, accompanies huge raises the CEO and other executives have seen.  Since 2007, Bresch has given herself a raise from $2.453,456 to $18,931,068.  This is a 671% increase to an already exorbitant salary, while people are struggling to afford the life saving medication they control.

The EpiPen was invented by Sheldon Kaplan and used, primarily, by the US Department of Defense for soldiers facing nerve gas.  When used as a shot, the pen issues a dose of epinephrine to combat anaphylactic shock.  This works against nerve gas, but also counteracts potentially deadly food allergies like those involving peanuts of shellfish.

Once Mylan acquired the rights to the EpiPen in 2007, they began the insidious practice of price gouging, raising is subtly by 5 or 10% per year (or per quarter).  This incredible practice has drawn global ire.

In just a few days, the stock plummeted by $3 billion dollars as investors bail, following the hate pouring in.

Greed takes hold of these people and they need a wake up call.  Their lives need to be disrupted as heavily as those that rely on the medicine they covet.  When their company stock prices drop, they are often  unable to pay back the debts they have accrued while living the luxurious lifestyle and national attention on sick CEOs like Heather Bresch take their toll.  Greed will not be tolerated.
