Alex Vamos, black belt in jiu-jitsu and owner of Vamos Mixed Martial arts gym in New Jersey, attended Alan Belcher's martial arts school and posed as a white belt to spar with the students.

One after another, purple belts challenge Vamos, thinking he is an easy fight, and are consistently thrown around.  The stress and shock the students are feeling is palpable.

The lesson Vamos teaches is not to lose faith if you lose a battle.  Belt color can be misleading.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu has swiftly become one of (if not) the most popular forms of fighting in the world.  As the internet has allowed fighters and martial artists around the globe to study different forms of combat and blend them together, the value of jiu-jitsu has remained at the top.

A parting message from Vamos for the students: focus on your opponent, not on the belt.
