My mother was a horse trader.  My siblings and I grew up on a farm.  Actually, a couple of them as we had to move a few times for various reasons.  We not only bought and sold horses, we raised and trained them, boarded them, competed in horse shows, provided mounts for field trials, hired out pony rides, ran riding stables – anything we could do to make ends meet that was somehow horse-related.

These are the stories of our lives.  Many of them are humorous, some are poignant, a few sad, even.  At the center, my Mom, who picked up horse-trading along the way.  Married several times, but every time true, lasting happiness seemed within her grasp, fate intervened.  But we had a lot of love, a lot of friends, a lot of adventures and misadventures, and always made the best of whatever life threw at us.

Through the stories, you’ll meet my brothers and my sister, my step-dads, our friends and enemies, and a cast of characters, some of whom will seem larger than life, but all real people.  Well, in many cases the names have been changed to protect the guilty (he says, laughing).

I’ve told many of these stories around bonfires and at parties, and for the most part they’ve been well received.  Friends and acquaintances have been telling me for a while now that I should write a book.  Well, someday maybe I’ll collect all the stories in a book, but for now you’ll find them here on this blog.  You might find some of them hard to believe, but I promise you, they’re all true, with hardly any exaggeration at all!  So follow the feed, or check back from time to time to catch up on what you might have missed.  Don’t hesitate to comment, I love to interact with readers.
