As her final high school project at Chicago High School for the Arts, Shea Glover created a video that went wild across the internet.
It started out as a simple project in which her intention was to film beauty. She says that she wasn't looking for a reaction, but simply filming beauty in its original form.
Half way through she turned the project into a social experiment when she noticed similar responses to her compliments.
The interesting thing is how people seem to change when they hear they're beautiful. For the most part, peoples' eyes light up and their faces relax, allowing their inner beauty to really shine through. It is an example of our tendency to fulfill our own prophecies about ourselves and it highlights the power of words. When people are told, or believe a certain thing about themselves, it seems like they are more likely to actually become it.
Glover admits her intention was not to get a reaction, but the video went viral anyway.
