Why not share your websites revenue with your guest bloggers using Peer-to-Peer Publishing?

More and more websites pop up where you can earn a few cents by sharing your content. Shared revenue is not something new but the downside is the dependency of the medium you are publishing on. You can put your precious stories on free writing platforms or write as a guest-blogger for free, but you can also pay yourself and your peer bloggers to write on each others platforms.

Peer-to-Peer Publishing groups

The idea is simple: form a group of 5 to 6 bloggers and agree to post on each other’s website once a week. Each blogger will have it’s own weblog hosted on his or her own hosting account, using WordPress. On each weblog you create an account of each member of the group. So if every blogger would create one blogpost a day on a friends website you have a full week of blogposts. The day that you don’t create a blogpost on a friends weblog, you can create one on your own weblog. After posting your story, both you and the site owner share the story through social media. You can set up a scheme with your friends in any kind of order. The basic agreement could be: a post for a post (I post one story on your blog, you post one on mine) in any range of time (for example 1 week). In this example, a group of 5 agrees to post one blog post on each others  weblog each Monday:

If the group are regular bloggers, they can rotate within one week. So the next day, Tuesday, Jane will publish on Michaels blog, Chris will publish on Joan’s blog, Michael will publish on Matthews blog etc.

This example is a rather strict routine of writing. Any other routine will work as well, but a minimum of 3 blog posts per week would be ideal to keep attracting visitors and Google. Consistency and frequency are key.

Peer-to-Peer Publishing add revenue

Now here comes the fun part. Why would you set up a publishing scheme like this with your friends for free? The interesting part of Peer-to-Peer publishing is that you can share the add-revenue with your friends. Using this nifty Post Pay Counter: WordPress payment manager plugin that calculates the Adsense revenue you can give to your guest bloggers.

By using this ‘Peer-to-Peer publishing plugin‘ you can reward your group of writers in any way you want. You can connect it to your Google Adsense and Google Analytics account and that way you calculate how much each writer has earned based on the views his post is generating or by the amount of words he or she wrote, up to you.

Benefits of Peer-to-Peer Publishing using WordPress

  1. By writing on your own and your friends’ weblogs on a regular and consistent basis you will sustain your weblog and those of your friends with a constant feed of content that will rank your website better.
  2. Your content stays your own and you will build up views on your website more and more.
  3. By working in a group and using each others social media presence by sharing each others posts, you can benefit of a larger network to bring out your writings.
  4. By paying your guest-bloggers using the Peer-to-Peer publishing plugin, they will post more frequently
  5. By paying your guest-bloggers and get paid for writing on your friends blog, both your blogs become of mutual interest

Other Peer-to-Peer publishing models

You don’t want to restrict your weblog to only a few guest bloggers and not all guest bloggers will have their own website or want to necessarily create a peer-to-peer publishing website. You could open your website for as much guest bloggers as you want. If your daily visits go up over time, your weblog will become more and more interesting for guest bloggers that want to blog on your website.

What are your thoughts? Do you think you could create your own paying platform for guest-bloggers?
