In this clip from Food Forward, a rancher in Bluffton, Georgia de-industrializes his five generation old farm for the sake of his animals and the environment.

Industrial treatment of animals began in the early 1900's.  It involves putting a large number of animals on a small amount of land; in which food is brought to the animal, which is seldom moved.

As undercover videos have surfaced of the abuses and derogatory treament of the animals in confinement, as well as the dangers of antibiotics and hormone injections, people have begun a call for a more natural way of animal rearing.  This has led many farmers to find profitable ways of raising animals in a healthy environment.
