You're paying for McDonalds even if you've never bought a Big Mac

Watch Russell Brand in conversation with Helena Norberg-Hodge as they discuss the inane process our food undergoes before it enters our mouths. From production to transportation, the entire system is ludicrously flawed with inefficiencies that we the consumers ultimately pay for regardless of whether we ever buy the product.

“The market model of big corporations like Monsanto and McDonalds is artificially bolstered and supported by taxpayers’ money.”

Infuriating.

Sweden-born Hodge was educated at MIT and works an analyst of the impact of the global economy on cultures and agriculture & a pioneer of the localisation movement. She is a writer, filmmaker, and activist who believes that localized food should be available for everyone.
