Underestimating Your Opponent is What's Dumb

Congratulating each other on their own cleverness, people who see all women as ditsy airheads are falling all over themselves portraying Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as a "dumb bartender". Really? 

Those making memes with manufactured quotes don't stop to ask themselves how without taking global corporate money, Alexandria got 78% of the vote in her district and then, getting to Congress, posed an immediate, serious challenge to the entrenched, globally-funded neolib leadership of Nancy Pelosi and Check Schumer.

Dumb? In high school, Alexandria Cortez won a microbiology prize in the largest pre-college science event in the country.

She then entered the prestigious Boston College, graduating with a double major in economics and international relations, with honors. 

Next she interned in Congress, specializing in immigration. The fact that a brilliant young woman with an excellent education was at any point tending bar says more about the economic distortion of the global corporate occupation of the US than it does about the woman. There are highly educated, hardworking waiters and baristas, male and female, all over our country. 

Never make the mistake of selling the smarts of the working people of America short, no matter how menial their work may seem to you. 

As Nancy and Chuck are rapidly discovering, underestimating your opponent will bite you in the ass every time.
