This month's forecast is coming a little late. Nothing major has been going on in my life; I've been taking things easy as during August I was doing copious amounts of research while teaching astrology courses, among doing other things. I took a break for a while, and I almost decided that I did not want to do an astrology forecast of September. But I've made up my mind: I have information in my head that I would be selfish to keep to myself. I can only innerstand my responsibility as an astrologer if I continue to practice being an astrologer.
So without further ado, let's examine the month of September!
This month starts of with a stellium of personal planets in Virgo. This follows the heavy emphasis on Leo last month. In August our social lives exploded or we began expressing our creativity in more expressive ways. We were given a chance to show how we truly felt with our companions, and now it seems it's time to get to work separating what is valuable from what is fantasy. By this, I mean we'll start getting into the nitty gritty of our relationships and start to understand who is accepting of our true selves and who is hypercritical or weighing us down.
Venus begins the month speeding ahead of the other personal planets (except the fast and furious Moon) at 13 degrees Virgo. She doesn't do too well in Virgo, though. It signals that people may become more practical and realistic about social situations, our pleasures, and creative ideas, all of which usually thrive off idealism. It can equally be about finding pleasure in servicing others or in our obligations. We may find ourselves stingy or restrictive with money as well. However, Virgo is about the cold, hard facts, discernment, correctness. Talking about the reality of any situation isn't exactly enjoyable or entertaining. But it does offer a chance to recognize the truth and to cast off what no longer serves. That is the energy of Virgo, and now is a great time to consider what we like and dislike about who we spend our time with.
This energy is followed closely by Mars at 9 degrees Virgo, the civil servant, the methodical worker. Mars operates well in earth signs, because his energy is directed towards something realistic, tangible and visible. It gives him the patience and determination to see his goals finished until the end. This is further reinforced by the Sun conjunct to Mars, putting our center of being into analytical mode. This is a powerful combination of planets that signals intense servitude, labor and sense of duty, most likely driven by the ego or passion.
Mercury follows shortly after, finding himself in his sign of exaltation. This is where Mercury comes down to Earth from the realm of the gods and shares their practical and medical knowledge with humanity (hence why Virgo is an earthy mutable sign). Our minds may be flowing with the information we gathered in the previous month providing the evidence we need of our friends' viability in our life paths. This is a great time to make a list of future plans and matching them to our social circle for compatibility. We may be afraid to find several mismatches, but this is the time to be honest to ourselves as our future happiness is at stake.
The reason I have been saying these two recent months deal with exposing our entertainment and social circles is because the personal planets in Virgo make hard aspects to both Jupiter in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces. These two planets are similar in astrology because they deal with spirituality and delusion. Jupiter's delusion is brought about by over-compassion, while Neptune's delusion is caused by illusions and deception. There is a limited factor of Jupiter's spiritual attribute, being within the confines of Saturn's orbit. Neptune on the other hand is as boundless and infinite as the massive ocean, leading to the loss of ego and a deep dive into the emotions of the human family.
The square to Jupiter symbolizes some pressure surfacing with the facts presented by the personal planets' journey through Virgo. These realizations may push us to act, which will most likely depend on how ready we are to discard that which does not serve our higher purpose (Jupiter = are we being overly compassionate to our friends and family, or overindulging in our pleasures, at the cost of our own expansion?). It is possible that as we express our beliefs or travel to meet those who share our opinions or faith (Sagittarius), we may find that the friends and pleasures we were addicted to for years no longer offer us any mental or spiritual growth. Alternatively, we can bump into a guru or teacher who knows about the metaphysical subjects we have been studying, encouraging us to seek others who are knowledgeable and reminding us that we are not alone in the search for higher knowledge and wisdom.
A Neptune opposition sheds light on any deception in relationships. Neptune is currently retrograde, making it easier to spot illusions with its energy weakened. It is also an opportunity to reunite spiritually with the rest of humanity and dissolve the ego's hold on our actions. Neptune is about self-sacrifice and divine love, perfect for the servicing and dutiful energy flowing through Virgo at the moment. All that energy from the previous month spent enjoying Mercury, Venus and Mars activities can now be dissected as they pass through the ultimate decontamination unit of Virgo and Neptune in Pisces.
The haze is temporarily lifted (Neptune Retrograde in Pisces) and we get a chance to evaluate our interactions with others based on truth and not idealism or misunderstandings. We ask ourselves: "What will take me higher?" This has the potential to be very exhilarating if we are content with how life is proceeding. The ego-dissolving nature lends itself to service in the greater world. However, if we have been lying to ourselves and others this will stand out and cause insurmountable pressure (opposition of personal planets to an outer planet = intense trans-personal energy), causing us to analyze the types of relationships in which we indulge. Both are beneficial so long as we are riding the wave of vibration and not continuing the facade of feeling everything is a-okay.
This ends part 1 of my September 2019 Forecast. I believe we have a lot of juice leading into the Saturn/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn in January 2020. We are already seeing how this could manifest through the increasing tension found in governments and traditions all around the world. Thus, it is important for us to stay in tune with these upcoming months so we may be prepared for what's to come.
Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for part 2.
