Media Sources Lie

I don't have a lot of time to write this, but I am really angry and want to get this out there. I am constantly having to explain to people that media outlets, like MSN, CNN, etc, lie to them on a daily basis and no one believes me. I've shown evidence, I have found factual sources to refute articles, and still these people have such a personal attachment to the news that they fight me. Okay then. Here is an example I was able to refute in five minutes. When I logged onto MSN this morning, these were the global covid cases displayed along with the active and recovery

MSN 10/21/20 8:42 am

This shows that only 6.8% of cases have recovered out of the confirmed cases. This is false information. If you go to John Hopkins, which I did right after I pulled this screenshot, you will see the recovery percentage is actually 68.38% Please see below screenshot.

How are people going to argue against this and say this isn't blatant lying? Imagine waking up in the morning and seeing such a poor recovery rate. Obviously, seeing the total confirmed cases over a ten month period and minimizing the active cases is bad enough, but seeing that amount of people recovered makes you feel like there is no hope. However, seeing that over half of the people who got the disease have recovered gives a completely different message. We really have to start speaking up about this and letting people know that they have a brain and they need to start using it. I provided feedback to MSN that the data was wrong, but that isn't enough. Some people look at one news source and that is their knowledge for the day. If we don't start holding news sources accountable for the hysteria they cause, it is just going to get worse. Anyway, hope all is having a good day and thanks for listening to my rant.
