Hello and welcome back to The Eternal Optimist! Today's subject is finding your happy place. To me this is an important step to finding inner peace, please join me in our journey into happiness.
Before talking about finding your happy place I just wanted to say that life is a journey that everyone takes. We are not all at the same part in our path and that is perfectly alright, but as individuals it is important to take one step at a time. I know that finding your happy place is a personal thing and I am only here to dispense my personal knowledge.
Finding your true happiness is a lifelong goal and is not something that is often found immediately. When you find something that makes you happy hold onto that and grow with it. Sometimes the things that make you happy can change with time and that may just be a side effect of personal growth or changes in taste. Letting go of negativity can also help you find your happy place, this path is a little longer but the result is the same.
Finding your true happiness is a lifelong goal, understanding what the goal is will bring you that much closer to find your personal happiness. This is important to note because not everyone walks the same path and some are longer than others. If you are on your path to happiness it's great to know your destination while being patient with yourself as it may take some time.
Finding something that brings joy into your life can facilitate happiness, hold onto these things in life and in memory as these things will bring you closer to your personal happiness. Things that can bring happiness are not always material and can be something that merely facilitates a feeling of joy. If you can take one or two things with you that bring joy, your happiness will soon follow.
Things that bring happiness are prone to change, just as you are. With each stage in your life growth occurs and things that bring you joy can change over time. Do not despair though and keep searching for things that bring joy. Whenever I lose something that brings me joy I think of the new thing that has taken it's place. It's not a bad thing to grow personally and as you grow try not to linger on the joys you have lost and focus on the new joys you will experience. Understand that when you lose joy a new one is not far off and may even foster personal growth.
Letting go of negativity can be a daunting task on a good day. Negativity can manifest in many different forms including thoughts, emotions, and feelings. Some ways that are helpful include listening to positive music, bringing positive affirmations into your thought set and talking about positive things. It's important to note that being negative towards negativity feeds into itself and will only make the issue seem worse than it is.
