“Pentagram” - Point 1 (top) White is Spirit (Zodiac wheel), Point 2 (going clockwise) Blue is Water (the Chalice), Point 3 Red is Fire (Blade), Point 3 Green is Earth (Chalice w/ a “cap stone”), Point 4 Yellow is Air, (Blade w/ a “cap stone”).
“Inverted Pentagram” thrusts Spirit into the ground (the top point, points down)
The “Baphomet” represents the “Power of Darkness” combined with the general fertility of the Goat.
In its pure form, the Pentagram is shown encompassing the figure of a man in the five points of the star - Three points up, two points down - symbolizing “man’s spiritual nature” - Anton Szandor LaVey (Founder and High Priest of the Church of Satan, from his book “The Satanic Bible”)
“In Satanism” the “Pentagram” is also used, but since Satanism represents the “carnal instincts of man”, or the opposite of spiritual nature, the “Pentagram” is “inverted” to perfectly accommodate the head of the goat - its horns represent “duality”, thrust upward in defiance; the other three points inverted or the “trinity denied”.
“US Army” = upright Pentagram
“Uncle Sam - ‘I want you for US Army, nearest recruiting office” - upright Pentagram on hat
“Victoria Police - uphold the Right” (British Police Badge) - inverted pentagram
