“The Structure of Freemasonry”
“American Freemasonry resembles a set of two stairs that begin and end together. A Mason’s first step is to become an entered Apprentice. He climbs to the third step where most Masons stay. If he wants to go on in Masonic hierarchy, he enters the Scottish or York Rites. Many authorities say the Scottish Rite began by Scots emigres in France; the York Rite is named after York, England where by legend the first Masonic body was organized. In the Scottish Rite, a Mason climbs 30 steps (degrees). The name he takes on a specific name, degrees where there are two names, the top is used by Northern Masons, the italics is used by Southern Masons. Some figures a Mason meets in Rite ceremonies stand on the steps from the bottom: King Solomon, King Cyrus, acolyte, George Washington, Sultan. Each degree teaches a moral. To earn a degree, candidate learns the moral and participates in ceremony dramatizing it. A 32° is the highest degree a Mason can earn. The 33° is awarded by the Supreme Council, ruling body of the Rite. A Mason in York Rite advances 10 degrees, known by name not by degree number. Temple workman, Past Master, Israel Tribesman, High Priest of Jews, King Hiram of Tyre, Knight of Malta, Knight Templar (equal to the 33° in the Scottish Rite). Organizations allied to Freemasonry, Master Masons are eligible for Grotto and Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Girls with a Mason in the family can Job’s Daughters or Rainbow Girls; women, the Eastern Star; boys DeMolay. Only 32° Masons or Knights Templar can join Shrine. Shriner’s wife can be a Daughter of the Nile. Most important Masonic Symbols is the open Bible with the Square and Compass on it; Solomon’s Temple; and the G w/ the All-Seeing Eye inside. In the U.S. the “G” stands for ‘God.’

The Pillar of Wisdom (Symbolized by a “W”) w/ Jacob’s Ladder represents the Spring and Fall Equinoxes (Equal Night), the Sun is even with the Equator, the Balance Point
The Pillar of Boaz (Beauty, symbolized by a “B”) - The Winter Solstice (Tropic of Capricorn) December 21st/22nd - the Sun is 23.5° South

(The Second Degree Tracing Board?) The Cryptic Tracing Board of Tubal Cain
On the third day after the Spring Equinox, the Sun breaks past the Equator, and thus fully emerges from its “Tomb” of the Southern Hemisphere. This symbolically represents Lucifer (the Light Bringer) “rising from the dead” to begin its journey toward its highest point at the Summer Solstice. The Cryptic Tracing Board symbolizes the High and Low points of Light.
The Third Degree Tracing Board
Shows the Skull and Bones, and warns about the three murders of Hiram Abiff; Ignorance, Apathy, and Cowardice. We must always be on guard against these three insidious destroyers of spiritual awareness
Freemasonry is ultimately about a tradition in which Natural Law and Morality is taught throughout a system of symbols, allegories, and rituals.
In the modern day, Masonry, has been perverted and fallen from its original intent.
“Freemasonry” = teaching through allegory
“Allegory” a story or picture that can be reveal a hidden (occult) moral or political meaning
Initiate Degrees (the Blue Lodge)
The First Degree - Entered Apprentice
The Second Degree - Fellow Craft
The Third Degree - Master Mason
(The Red Lodge) Scottish Rite
4th Degree to 32nd Degree
(The White Lodge/Black Degrees) 33rd Degree and beyond
The main Symbol of Freemasonry the Compass & Square w/ a “G”
The Square represents base consciousness, a low state of awareness, someone who is difficult to teach
The Square is Earth bound awareness (materialism)
Trapped in the base consciousness (R-Complex)
The Square is pointed down, representing the Lower World (Material plain and divorced from spirit)
The Compass, placed over the Square, coming upward in consciousness to a place of balance and higher understanding.
Compass traces Circles, and represents the Divine and Higher World
“Compass” form “Compassion” they bend, going along with the flow of creation
The “G” stands for many things (God, Geometry, Gematria, Gnosis, Grand or Great Architect of the Universe, Goddess (the emotional qualities of Self), Good, Green, Gate/Gateway, Generative Principle)
