WHAT CAN I DO?

Ever just need a change of surroundings? Something to spruce up the place and lift your mood? Ever paint your rooms and find the pictures you had on the wall or the lamps dont match anymore?

I have and heres my quick fix. Paint them. Take all your frames and photo mattings out of the frames. Use the wall color paint to paint the mattings or just flip them over and they will all be white. Take all the glass and soak them in a sink of sudsy water while you wipe down the frames.

 Get black or white craft paint or whatever color you like and paint all the frames the same color. It would be easier to spread them out and spray paint them but I have never accomplished this without drips. With craft paint you can fix the drip marks.

Once you have painted all the frames you can lie them on some cardboard in a well ventilated garage or outside and spray them with clear spray paint.  Be sure to put two light coats rather than one heavy coat to avoid drips.These paints come in a matte or glossy finish, whatever you prefer. I have also done this with switchplates and outlet covers. They come out like new.

Once you clear coat your frames, taking care to separate them enough so you can coat all sides, wash and thoroughly dry your  picture frame glass, preferably overnight. Once they are dry, assemble your photos and hang. I guarantee you will be pleased with the results. I will do another blog with the way gallery owners photos get the perfect hangings. 

The same for re-doing your lamps. Why bother spending money you could use to save or spend on something else? Paint them, clear coat them with clear spray paint and you will be able to wipe them without danger of the paint rubbing off when you wipe with a wet cloth. Enjoy.
