In the little town of Walnut Park, near the outskirts of Los Angeles; with its populace of one hundred and eighty-seven people. There lived a young teenage girl named Wendy, who loved her dog Tags, the two were inseparable. Wendy had Tags. Tags since he was a pup. He was a Christmas present from her neglectful mother who was always excessively busy or too tired to give Wendy any of her attention. As time passed, Wendy and Tags grew up and became the best of friends more than just owner and pet.
Until one day on Wendy’s eighteenth birthday. They were on their way to the market for ice cream for Wendy’s Birthday party. As they were crossing the street Wendy noticed a speeding car barreling down towards them. She yelled at Tags to move, but instead he stopped in the middle of the road and got hit by the speeding car.
The driver never stopped; all Wendy could do was watch through teary eyes as the car kept driving away. Wendy screamed Tags’ name begging for him to wake up. Before Tags died, he wagged his tail one final time for her.
Wendy screamed again to hold Tags’ limp body in her arms. A crowd of people began to form around Wendy and Tags. Wendy stood up with Tags still in her arms and ran away. At first, Wendy didn’t know where she was going, and then she remembered the boy that had recently transferred to her school. Mario Vetiş from Romania, who was known for dabbling in the arts of Black Magic.
By the time Wendy reached Mario’s house, night had already fallen. She rang his doorbell and banged on his door. Thankfully for Wendy, Mario was home. Mario opened his door;He saw a pretty girl with long dark hair in tears holding what appeared to be a dead dog into her arms. “I need your help!” Wendy said with heavy tears in her eyes. “I know you can bring Tags back. I’ll do anything you ask. I’ll give you anything you want.”
Mario took a deep breath and said. “You must understand, who ever told you that about me is not true. “No, no please you have to!” Wendy said. “I can’t live without my dog; he’s more than a pet; he’s my friend, and I need him back!” Mario stayed quiet. “Haven’t you always had a friend who was consistently there for you and never judged you? Haven’t you evermore had someone’s unconditional loyalty?”
Wendy fell to her knees whimpering saying. “I need him back, please Mario, please bring Tags back.” Wendy’s words rang true to Mario; he too knew the loss of a love one, putting his hand on her shoulder Mario said" “Alright girl; I will help you; I will bring your dog Tags back. We must hurry, also much time has passed. His body is beginning to stiffen.
Come, come this way to my room.” Mario turned around and walked into a darkroom with Wendy right behind him. “Please lay your dog here on this table.” Mario said, and Wendy laid Tags’ body on the table that was covered by a black cloth. Still sobbing Wendy asked Mario “Are you sure you can bring him back?” Mario looked a little insulted at Wendy and said," “Yes but there will be a price, a very big price to pay if I do this for you.”
Wendy at her wits ends said. “Yes anything, what do you want anyway?” “For now that will have to wait, I will tell you later.” Mario pulled out a black book from his shelf it looked as though the book had little bones on it. He opened the book and found the spell he needed. Mario began to say the words"
