An Open Secret by Esponda Films; Review and Commentary

Try not to pause it or look away in disgust and absorb the entirety of the message purveyed by this film; Pedophiles and their ilk not only exist in powerful places throughout many industries, they also directly control much of what it is our children see and view on available TV programming.
Rarely is there a documentary that is so honest, real, and devastating in it's ineffable truth that it is roundly and routinely suppressed. VaXXed is perhaps the only example that comes to mind. An Open Secret revolves around Pedophilia in the entertainment industry, and is the only film this author is aware of that has named several high profile entertainment and even kids entertainment industry figures as sexual predators. Some even still work with children to this day. That is beyond bone chilling information. Perhaps even more frightening is the fact the film conveys, in no uncertain terms, how deeply internal this problem is for Hollywood. Some of the most well known producers, directors, investors, and actors have been implicated in a high profile child sex abuse ring by this film. Most harrowing of all, is that every claim and story is backed up by visceral, and at times enraging evidence. As parents ourselves we could not believe what we saw. At times we cried, at times we had to suppress deep rage. The absolute disregard for actor safety shown by Hollywood, especially for child actors, is tantamount to child abuse and criminal negligence bordering on aiding and assisting pedophiles in their crimes.
With the #MeToo movement, one can't help wonder where the voices of the children are in all this? The ending of An Open Secret, without any spoilers, is one of strangest combinations of hope and despair. One can see the deep pain in not just the children's eyes, but the parents as well. What has been done, and what is being done today by these individuals and groups, is the greatest affront to humanity we can imagine. To rob the innocence of children using their dreams against them is to be truly evil. And this truly speaks to the larger issue at hand; why are parents NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS???
It is a disgusting and vile topic, but that does not negate the obligation of all parents to be aware of threats to children's safety. Pedophiles are often intelligent, savvy predators who understand family dynamics well and how to manipulate them. They employ a process known as grooming that can take place over years, making it difficult to spot them as a predator. Only through group vigilance and understanding of these criminals can we hope to prevent the worst of abuses. Please take time and watch this film if you are a parent or caring individual. But steel your mind, heart, and soul as this is a film that does not spare feelings nor words.

Child abuse in the entertainment industry reaches to many levels, and any caring individual would do well to arm themselves with this knowledge and information, in the hopes that they might be able to protect and help those they care for who might be considering going into this industry.
