The SPLC is a hate group used for social media censorship
The SPLC, the Southern Poverty Law Center, is an NGO that is used by social media companies such as Facebook and Twitter to ban users and organizations labeled as "hate groups". This is a monumental scandal, as the SPLC itself is nothing but a hate group and a fraud!
Let's be clear: while the SPLC is a left-wing propaganda tool, this is not a "right wing smear campaign" against them. The facts are so obvious that even the NY Times and Politico were forced to admit that the SPLC doesn't have the slightest credibility.
Grotesque abuse of the "hate group" designation
Their mislabeling of the CIS - the Center for Immigration Studies - as "hate group" was described even by the mainstream leftist media as inappropriate. I recently linked an article published by the CIS, written by a Jewish lawyer, addressing the Jewish community, which was rated as "Zionist propaganda" by Neonazis and other antisemites, so apparently, they rile up haters on all sides of the political spectrum. Contributors to CIS are truly diverse (unlike SPLC) and contribute many different views.
The SPLC itself has to be rated as extremist, as they side with BLM and have become major defenders of Islam. Both are openly supremacist, racist, misogynist and antisemitic.
Islam says that apostates (ex-Muslims), atheists and polytheists (e.g. Hindus) should be murdered and that Christians and Jews can only be tolerated if they submit to Islam, but when ex-Muslims criticize Islam, having been raised themselves as Muslims, knowing Islamic teachings from the inside and obviously not "racist", they are designated as "extremists". They did this to Ayan Hirsi Ali, a Somali woman who speaks out against the oppression of women under Islam. Because of SPLC's label, she has been disinvited by US universities.

It's fascinating that they think they have to list every KKK or Neonazi organization in the US. Is that a service for those groups so they can find each other? 🤔
They also included Christian organizations, those who oppose mass immigration and ... libertarians ("anti-government extremists") as hate groups. I kid you not!
As for the "anti-LGBT" groups: hating people for their sexual orientation is really stupid, physically attacking them is a crime, but being anti-LGBT does not necessarily mean one is against homosexuals.
LGBT is a Marxist organization. Their political agenda and homosexuality have nothing in common. When they promote pedophilia, which they more and more often do, they are outright criminal.
Opposing the Transgender movement is a necessity if we want to defend civilization, women's rights and gay rights, as they are all undermined by the politics of Transgenderism, which does not represent people with Gender Dysphoria. If they did, they would try to help people who suffer from it. Instead, they try to convince kids who are perfectly normal that they should become "trans". They want to create more people with gender confusion. That's like a handicapped person trying to convince people that they should gouge their eyes out or sever their spinal cord.
Calling men's groups that criticize the feminist agenda "hate groups" is equally stupid. If they were honest, they'd condemn every feminist individual or organization that spreads misandry (hatred of men), but they don't - misandry is apparently acceptable. Only misogyny is bad. Such hypocrisy is always very telling.
Calling any person or organization a "hate group" - unless it is glaringly obvious, as with self-identified KKK and Neonazi groups - is slander and should be prosecuted, considering the severe consequences this can have.
It also diminishes the meaning of the term: if an organization that fights for less government is a "hate group", that sets the bar really low. In fact, it destroys the concept entirely.
SPLC ignores Democrat history of racism
The fact that they smeared Trump as "enabling hate groups" should also have led to a criminal prosecutions - all the more so as the KKK and Neonazi groups openly express hatred for Trump and conservatives and actively support the Democrats:

The longest serving member of Congress was Robert Byrd. He had been a KKK leader for 12 years. He was also Hillary's mentor. Bill Clinton called his membership in the KKK a "sin of youth". None of this is ever mentioned by the SPLC. They don't care. It doesn't shock them that Neonazis supported Biden. They know they do. But if Richard Spencer had said that he supports Trump - without any reciprocity - it would have made headlines for months.
It should not surprise anyone that Biden nominated a black woman who worked for the SPLC as federal judge:
