Geosciences are racist!

In 2019, Nature Magazine - the supposedly very serious source of scientific studies - published this utter "woke" cultural Marxist garbage:

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41561-019-0519-z

I kid you not - this has gotten way out of hand 😒

"Geoscientists in the United States are predominantly White. Progress towards diversification can only come with a concerted shift in mindsets and a deeper understanding of the complexities of race."

Maybe he's right, maybe he isn't, but why does he single out geology?

How about: "Basketball in the United States is predominantly black. blabla race."

Also: "Marathon runners in the entire world are predominantly black. blabla race."

Shockingly: "Swimmers in the entire world are predominantly white. blabla race."

Outrageously: "Chess champions in the entire world are predominantly male. blabla gender."

Scandalously: "Rap music in the United States is predominantly black. blabla race."

There's also: "Engineering in the United States is predominantly Asian. blabla race."

Congratulations, sir, you discovered the amazing fact that some types of activities are dominated by certain races, ethnicities and genders.

Shocking lack of diversity

The article continues: "with faculty of colour holding only 3.8% of tenured or tenure track positions in the top 100 geoscience departments2"

You have to be obsessed with race to make lists about every imaginable occupation type and the number of people who practice it.

France is also obsessed with anti-racism - but they made it illegal to keep any list referring to race, ethnicity or religion 🤔

Looks like "anti-racists" don't agree on the best way to be anti-racist.

I have more shocking data:

People living in Nigeria are predominantly black.

People living China are predominantly Chinese.

People living in Japan are predominantly Japanese.

95% of the planet lacks diversity and somehow, they don't seem to fret about it.

Is there any evidence that black people are actively prevented from entering geology or from getting a tenured position? If that were the case, then maybe it would be worth writing an article about it.

What the statistics say

"The less diverse a field, the less welcoming it is to minorities"

So the author thinks that if a black person is genuinely interested in geology, the first thing that person will do is check out the diversity of geology to decide whether or not to go into that field?

Maybe a majority of black college students are just not into geology? A majority of white people are not.

The most recent period with detailed numbers is 2017-18. For the US department of education, a 3 year delay is normal. But that's perfect, as the Nature article is from 2019:

https://nces.ed.gov/programs/digest/d19/tables/dt19_318.30.asp

There are about 1300 different fields one can get a college degree in.

Total number of bachelor students enrolled: 1,980,644

Total number of students enrolled in geology/earth science, general: Bachelors: 5,699, Masters: 1,306, PhD: 462

So about 0.3% of all college bachelor students picked geoscience. About 8% of them got a PhD, a precondition to get a tenured position.

These are the percentages of bachelor and doctor's degrees in STEM fields by race:

Assuming that the preference for geology is the same as for STEM fields in general, with the same percentage of doctorates, that would mean that 8.4% or 478 black students picked geology and 21 blacks got PhDs.

If 3.8% of all tenured professors are black, that's extremely close to the average number of black people with PhDs in STEM fields. An even marginally different preference for geology among blacks would entirely explain the 0.8% difference in tenured positions.

Personal choice

Based on the available data, it seems obvious that whether a black person studies geology or something else is entirely a matter of personal choice.

There are basically only 2 ways of getting more blacks into geology:

  • enroll more black students and get them all to go into geology
  • get some students enrolled in other fields to switch to geology

Surprising discovery: given that the total number of black students is finite, moving more of them into a specific field, say geology, reduces the "diversity" in the fields they are taken from.

Something tells me that one could find a significant excess of black students in black studies...

The racial composition of a field should be completely irrelevant unless you have a "diversity officer" whose only job it is to whine about race.

I'm pretty sure young black people are not sitting around sweating about the lack of diversity in geology, thinking "if only there were more black people in geology faculties".

So the data is pretty clear and totally destroys the argument of the article.

Cultural Marxist screeching

"The term ‘colourblind racism’ is used to describe the declaration that someone simply does not see colour, denoting a subtler form of racism than overt racism"

How about that is actually what it means NOT to be racist?

"Many White people who are not aware of (and would deny having) any racist tendencies unwittingly engage in it"

Seriously, I have a few choice words for this race baiter... does he really lack self-awareness to this degree? It's obvious that he is racist and he is angry to see that others do not share his racist world-view.

And then we get the entire Cultural Marxist definition of "race" as being about "power":

"Racism and prejudice are distinct"

No, they are the exact same thing! I can prove that in 5 seconds:

  • in 1927, the Nazis had no political power, yet they were already racist and antisemitic
  • when they gained complete control over the German government in 1933, they did not change at all, they were the same as before
  • black supremacists such as Darell Brooks are racist, even without political power
  • racist blacks most definitely do hold political power, e.g. Kristen Clarke, head of the Civil Rights Division under Biden

"in that racism denotes a systemic advantage that benefits a dominant group, such as White people"

White people are currently the most hated group with ZERO benefits.

"systemic racism is not so much about prejudice as it is about a power differential between majority and minority groups"

Absolute nonsense. Whether an individual belongs to a group that holds political power or not makes absolutely no difference. The attempt to claim that a black person cannot be racist "because blacks do not hold political power" is both, factually wrong and intellectually dishonest. When the president was Obama, the head of the FBI and the head of the DOJ were all black, were blacks racist then and KKK members were not?

The claim that an individual's qualification as "racist" or "prejudiced" should depend on the degree of power some identity group he may belong to holds is absurd. We all belong to multiple identity groups and most of them are completely made up.

It's more than obvious that social status is a far greater predictor of "power" and "influence" than racial group. A poor white person in the US has infinitely much less power than a very large number of rich and well connected black people. Basically, this "diversity officer" is saying that no Redneck can ever be racist, but Obama and Kamala are. And in their case, it's actually true - they are both racist.

Systemic racism

"Many White people do not acknowledge systemic racism"

Yes, a lot of white people are delusional and refuse to see it - there's massive systemic racism and it is entirely anti-white!

How can we tell? Because white people pretend to be non-white, but not a single non-white person pretends to be white.

https://thehill.com/changing-america/enrichment/education/577722-more-than-a-third-of-white-students-lie-about-their

A survey found that 34 percent of white students who applied to colleges falsely claimed they were a racial minority on their application.

  • Most students, 48 percent, claimed to be Native American on their application.
  • Seventy-seven percent of white applicants who lied about their race on their application were accepted to those colleges.
  • Elizabeth Warren got a free scholarship and a job at Harvard out of falsely claiming to be "Native American". Had she been non-white and claimed to be white, she would have gained absolutely nothing!

Every single mixed-race person who is half white will always identify with the non-white half: Obama and Kaepernick are just the most famous examples.

A black supremacist terrorist drives into a crowd of mostly white people, murders 6 and maims more than 60 victims, including children, and the media call it an "accident", a "car crash".

Darrell Brooks' Facebook posts called for violence against White people, support for Hitler

https://www.foxnews.com/us/darrell-brooks-facebook-white-people-violence

A white teenager fights for his life as a violent mob attacks him and he's an "evil white supremacist".

But white people are "systemically racist". Because they hold all the power. Right.

Seeing race as "not important" is racist

The author of this Nature article continues to expose his own extreme racism:

"As the Diversity Officer for a geoscience campus with predominantly White students and staff"

Those white people he complains so much about decided from their dominant position in society to create the position of "diversity officer", under the false assumption that this will reduce racial tensions and will help non-white employees and students. Yes, clearly white people are racist and ignorant. I have to admit that I have zero respect for those who create such offices. It's an incredibly stupid move. They give money to people whose only job it is to create racist tensions, as that's how they ensure long-term job stability and increasing power for their position. What you pay for, you get more of!

"I have noticed a consistent pattern: there is a massive disconnect between how White people and people of colour view race. People of colour tend to view race as an important part of their identity, whereas White people tend to view it as incidental."

He's right, that matches exactly a PEW poll from 2019:

So ... people who view race as "not important" are racist, while those who see race as extremely important are victims of racism.

Where do you even begin?

"the subject of privileges that White researchers enjoy is an uncomfortable topic as many White people"

It's about as "uncomfortable" as debating the flat earth model: pure fiction, as I already pointed out.

"having privileges as a consequence of being White"

It's fascinating how such race baiters persist in claiming that white people have privilege when there's overwhelming evidence that they do not. It's a axiom, a cultish belief they never have to support with data.

This lie is entirely based on outcome: some black people don't do as well as white people. Here is the average income by racial/ethnic group in the US in 2018: as you can see, white people are not even close to being the most successful group. Blacks from Ghana, Nigeria and Guyana are more successful. That totally nukes any claim about "white privilege".

Kuheli Dutt persits, claiming that white people do not experience racism:

"does not mean that one has not experienced other forms of oppression, it just means that racism is not one of them"

No racism, huh?

This entire article is nothing but a racist attack on white people, from beginning to end. Cultural Marxism is an ideology that is based entirely on anti-white racism.

Is there any way such people can learn about self-awareness? This guy has none!
