I wasn’t really planning a part 4, or even the part 3 for that matter, but I feel like I need to put a final cap on this. In the first part, I basically had several people tell me I had no idea what I’m talking about. Hilariously, I had one suggest that I should have written something more like a NYT hit piece, despite the fact I very clearly stated that I was not interested in writing a hit piece.
Here is the hit piece, for those wondering. Everyone remember the New York Times? You know, that outlet that somewhat recently posted more accusations against Kavanaugh before needing to almost immediately retract it due to absurdly sloppy journalism? Yeah. Those guys.
He made some other passive aggressive remarks, like he thinks I should write more academically rather than trying to keep things short and entertaining. He thinks I need more sources, and to blindly accept definitions from leftist-approved sources like wikipedia.
To all of that, I have one simple rebuttal:
This isn’t some leftist college campus. I can say what I want, and you have no control over that. So use your own voice instead of trying to tone police others, you absolute authoritarian boot lickers. Nobody cares about a dry, point by point debunking of something with a bibliography of sources, especially since Leftists would contest the sources I use, anyways.
But, the rest of you may ask, why am I writing a fourth part? Two main reasons. First, it seems to really irritate both ethnonationalists and leftists, and I can think of no one I am more happy to annoy. But second, we have had this overarching structure thus far:
Part 1: Comparing and contrasting leftism and ethnonationalism
Part 2: Debunking ethnonationalism while continuing to observe how similar it is to leftism
Part 3: A specific case study in ethnonationalists using very similar tactics and rhetoric when attacking a target of their collective ire
So, what will part 4 be? Well, this entire project has been rather loose by design, but basically I’m now attacking this from the other direction. I’m going to focus more on leftism, and then tie that to everything we have discussed in this series on ethnonationalism.
As stated in Part 1’s third point, The Ends Justify the Means, a very common tactic used by ethnonationalists is outright deception. Ethnonationalists do this by constantly playing with definitions and claiming the criticisms with their ideology are just partisan attacks. They make more effective use of memes, but they still misrepresent things quite a lot in my experiences with them. Leftists do basically the same thing, but to a much greater extent, simply because they have far more power at this point in time, and thus we have more examples.
Here is a video showing exactly what I mean.
It’s about ten minutes, and was made by a rather colorful individual, so I will summarize. It details a very clear campaign meant to paint conservatives as humorless, idiotic moralists by coordinating with fake twitter accounts, news publications, and online Twitter activists. If that sounds a bit far fetched, then I really suggest you watch the video. It is my opinion that, because this was such a minor hit job led by people who didn’t take it very seriously, they let the mask slip too much and were exposed as a result. While many coordinated media narratives do not have this level of evidence showing just how astroturfed they are, and we merely have a very strong suspicion of foul play, this one has a veritable mountain of evidence. And if they are willing to lie so openly about conservatives in this context, it becomes far more likely that they are lying about other things that are far more important and beneficial to their ideology. Because, again, they see any tactic that moves them towards their goal as good, no matter how immoral they might otherwise find it in other settings.
Interestingly enough, I seem to recall the Left being the one to start the accusation of fake news before it was turned back on them, to great effect. The first I remember hearing about it was Hillary Clinton mentioning it, either after she lost the election or shortly before she did. Now, I doubt I could find the source on this even if I tried, so it’s entirely possible this is entirely incorrect, but it’s a minor point. The bigger point is that saying leftists create fake news is not a smear, it is an objective, verifiable fact. I could even argue that many RINOs(Republicans In Name Only) also try to use propaganda and fake news to sway things in their favor, as they not only believe that the ends justify the means, they are also so unprincipled that they think you need lies to protect the truth. Those hypocrites will be discussed briefly later.
The point I wish to emphasize here is that I do not trust Leftists on anything, period. They are willing to go to great lengths to lie, and the fact that so many of them are complicit in these lies with their listen and believe mentality means that they can also falsify a general consensus to berate those who require evidence, by using public ridicule and intimidation to enforce either acceptance of the lie or silence. I am only one man with a full time job, and my resources do not allow me debunk every vacuous non-truth created by a massive well-funded media propaganda machine. The fact a news outlet has been shown to have colluded even once with a partisan narrative with either willing ignorance or deliberate malice is enough for me to immediately discard anything else they have to say as useful, and such an action is necessary if I don’t want to be misled.
I hope I’m not misrepresenting ethnonationalists on this topic, as I find it difficult to get straight answers from them on anything. Leftists I know I’m not misrepresenting, though, as they almost won’t shut up about it. But as I understand it, ethnonationalists and lefitsts agree that universal education, subsidized by the government, is good and useful. Ethnonationalists merely believe the current system pushes Marxism, and should instead teach nationalism and traditional values. Meanwhile, leftists very openly push their own partisan beliefs in academia. But enough has been said on that topic, so that’s not the focus here.
But what if I told you that the entire premise of government involvement in education is fundamentally wrong?
Enter Razorfist, someone I watch semi regularly for his well sourced and informed political takes. Frankly, he’s far better at arguing these kinds of points than I am, but in doing so he also helps me develop my own arguments on various topics.
Here is his video on principles of education, among other things.
I highly recommend watching this video. In addition to the lesson on history, something I normally find mind-numbingly boring, he speaks upon the philosophy of the original American educational system. It was meant to be libertarian in nature, allowing people the freedom to form their own curriculum and teach what they thought was important. That would sound like heresy to leftists today. “What if people teach the wrong things?”, they might say. “What if the disadvantaged can’t acquire a good education because of this?”, they might add.
Unfortunately for them, they are objectively wrong. The current government mandated, heavily regulated, heavily controlled system was the education system designed for slaves. I can think of no better way to keep a person permanently enslaved than to shackle them to an industry, thus requiring they do whatever their superiors tell them to in order to keep food on the table. We’ve managed to create an education system that costs more and produces worse results. Although, I guess the quality of its results is subjective. The leftist tyrants who want slaves that vote for their politicians and quietly pay taxes while never even entertaining the idea that a better, more free system might be superior find the current results of our educational system more than adequate.
Ironically, neither ethnonationalists nor leftists would likely admit to this fact, while very quickly accusing the other side of actively engaging in such slimy tactics. The cognitive dissonance is real, especially if we take a look at something that deviates closer to libertarian education than the current totalitarian structure; homeschooling.
Here is some information around homeschooling that some might find interesting.
I find some of these little factoids rather interesting.
• "The home-educated typically score 15 to 30 percentile points above public-school students on standardized academic achievement tests."
• "Homeschool students score above average on achievement tests regardless of their parents’ level of formal education or their family’s household income."
• "Some think that boys’ energetic natures and tendency to physical expression can more easily be accommodated in home-based education. Many are concerned that a highly disproportionate number of public school special-education students are boys and that boys are 2.5 times as likely as girls in public schools to be diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)."
• "The research base on adults who were home educated is growing; thus far it indicates that they vote and attend public meetings more frequently than the general population."
Overall, homeschooling seems to be superior in every way to the public school. Unless you want a public that follows orders and doesn’t ask questions, of course, which is why leftists and ethnonationalists agree on the centralized system.
This was something I’ve been alluding to for this entire series. Nazis, Commies, Fascists, and authoritarians have a lot more in common than people realize. They demand conformity, they demand obedience. You are not your own person, you are owned. Want to know why the Democrats were the party of slave owners? Want to know why they now demand that private citizens do as they say? Why they want people banned from all platforms and public life due to wrong think?
It’s because their fundamental ideology requires it. To get equal outcomes, you must annihilate equal opportunity. It really is that simple, and that is why we have them now demanding disarmament and increased control over the economy. Here is another Razorfist video, one that actually came out VERY recently. It’s actually rather humorous that it come out so soon after I wrote three parts of this series. I had no idea that was going to happen, but the fact it did is why I was finally pushed to finish off this series.
Here is the video, explaining that National Socialists are, indeed, Socialists.
This video is longer, but considering it so neatly encapsulates everything I’ve been talking about makes it well worth the watch. Those who claim Nazis were not socialists are wrong. Those who claim leftists are pushing democratic socialism and not socialism are wrong. The fundamental principles involving using government force to control the economy, falling back on extreme punishments for those that do not comply, is exactly what the Left pushes for. You cannot argue this while also being informed. The Left supports economic intervention and government usurpation of individual rights.
Oh, and before you go to “but muh minor differences between X and Y…” You can go whine about minor points somewhere else. Like I said, I’m not interested in trusting those who are so openly prone to lying or believing lies. I’m nine thousand percent certain that Democrats have inserted themselves into all spheres to try to manipulate their enemies. All a Democrat has to do is call themselves a Republican, and boom! You’ve got a RINO. You can even do this to a weak/spineless conservatives by convincing them to back socialist ideas, usually done by smear campaigns or other underhanded tactics.
We saw exactly this kind of thing done with the video detailing the AOC dancing scandal. An obviously fake account used fake outrage to facilitate attacks against conservatives that were not the source. It showed the blind tribalism of the left, and the general lack of it for the right. Overall, that is why I talked principles, and their logical conclusions. Because you have confused people all over the political spectrum, and we shouldn't be allowing such people to .
I think this is the best point to end on, as it represents the highest level of dishonesty in my opinion. Leftists and ethnonationalists enjoy playing with definitions. They either blindly tout a definition, or claim there is nuance missing that can be filled in by following their ideologue approved propaganda.
Here is a video showing more or less what I'm talking about.
Video is funny, and recommended, but isn’t necessary to watch. I just thought I should include it.
But this is actually what more or less happened to me in relation to this series. I was approached by a leftist and told my takes were invalid, and then minor discrepancies argued. As it went on, it became more obvious that he actually couldn’t take issue with my write up. He said it missed context, sources, and didn’t phrase things the right way. Ironically, this is the exact kind of thing that hit pieces usually do, one of which he linked me to, and yet it can be pointed out exactly where hit pieces hide information or deliberately mislead the average reader.
He couldn’t do that with my piece. So he devolved into arguing semantics instead.
There is a reason in 1984, a piece of dystopian fiction, that so much emphasis is placed on language control. If you can prevent people from discussing an idea by insisting the language being used is illegitimate in some way, you can wield a massive amount of control. This is what the Left tries to do daily with politically correct terminology. While complaining that others try to push agendas with how they word things, they demand that people use their chosen words.
I think that’s enough. Leftists, your movement is as dead as it is intellectually bankrupt. You have been so thoroughly defeated in the marketplace of ideas, the only way you can win is by establishing a monopoly in public discourse so you can censor your opponents. With that now collapsing, you will soon have absolutely nothing.
You know, I don’t really go out of my way to talk about politics. In fact, I’m usually only pushed into doing it when someone basically tells me not to, or puts forth their own take that is so misinformed, a response of some kind is a cathartic necessity.
But that doesn’t mean I have anything against most ethnonationalists or leftists. I think they are wrong and support terrible ideologies, but most of them aren’t nefarious. They are just misled. Which is why I encourage people to consider everything I have laid out in this series, and the logical conclusions of their own ideology. Censorship, gun grabbing, and economic intervention always lead to the same results, and I want more people to realize that. Distinctions without a difference are usually just attempts to implement the same terrible ideas.
As always, I won’t be deleting comments that merely disagree with me. The only times I do is when people get really spammy, shouting down everyone else, but that’s pretty rare. Just don’t do that, and you can respond with whatever you like. Maybe I will even respond.
