MSN released this article on the Boogaloo movement: What is the 'boogaloo?' How online calls for a violent uprising are hitting the mainstream

The first problem, and bias to cause division and angry feelings, is in the first sentence:

"targeting liberal political opponents"

It's not just 'liberals' who are the target, in fact, they're not the target at all - the target is an oppressive and overreaching government that has been able to overreach because of the efforts of both sides.

As evidenced by the use of the words,

"and law enforcement" a thing which the conservative side is especially fond of bolstering.

"according to a group of researchers that tracks hate groups."

'Hate group' is inflammatory language meant to cause an emotional reaction instead of thoughtful analysis.

The researchers are 'scientists and engineers', mentioned to cause a feeling that the researchers are rational and authoritative. We can trust them and their thinking. Except what makes a scientist or an engineer the appropriate authority for analyzing a *political* movement?

"misinformation and hate speech" so, what is 'misinformed' about a people who see the government as overreaching into their inalienable rights and what is 'hate speech' about a free people speaking out about and organizing to do something about it?

"extremists have pushed anti-government and anti-law enforcement messages across social media platforms."

'Extremist' = people who are fed-up.

'Pushing' anti-government and anti-law enforcement is our GOD DAMN GIVEN RIGHT and if we, the people, aren't allowed to 'push it' we, the people, are not free, but living in a fascist state.

"some of whom have assembled at real-world events."

Yes, because doing something about a government which has given us "a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism" is "their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

"The report 'represents a breakthrough case study in the capacity to identify cyber swarms and viral insurgencies in nearly real-time as they are developing in plain sight,'"

Should be understood as the spies who will snitch the people out to the government for punishment.

"Community Protection and Resilience" people who feel that the government is right and that the people should just shut up and take it - 1984 style thought police.

"The report comes as U.S. law enforcement officials and researchers at various levels have issued warnings about the growing threat" ... to themselves. And, only dumb sheople will feel like it's anything other than that. Only blind followers and sleeping people will feel like it's a threat to them.

"'When you have people talking about and planning sedition, and violence against minorities, police, and public officials, we need to take their words seriously,'"

'Minorities', thrown in as the first word - That's a way to sway those who aren't paying attention into believing it's really only about racism, only coming from the alt-right.

"seemingly tyrannical"? Nope. Just tyrannical.

"perceived threat of wide-spread gun confiscation"? Are you fucking kidding me? It's not a perception, we're watching it become reality in real-time.

"In the last three months, boogaloo-related conversation has grown rapidly,"

Why is that, do you suppose? There couldn't possibly be any reason other than 'extremism', right?

"carries the danger of indoctrination." You mean carries the 'danger' of countering the wildly ingrained, through our public school system, indoctrination of fealty to the State.

"and marketed to current and former members of the military." Do you mean to the people who know best what an overreach the government represents and are trained to do something about it? Um, yes, seems like the smart thing to do. If they were all indoctrinated well by the State and believed the State was the moral good, you wouldn't have anything to worry about, would you? Maybe we should all wonder why this might be a worry for you?

"A Facebook spokesperson said in an emailed statement that the company monitored groups that called for violence." Yes, about halfway through typing this post out on FB my keystrokes wildly slowed down to an almost halt because a while ago FB admitted that they not only save all your posts but also your keystrokes. They want a record of what you type and erase, not just what you post. So, *mwah*, hello FB fascists, kisses for you this morning 🖕

"We don't allow speech used to incite hate or violence," Translated: We don't allow people to organize to free themselves from an oppressive and overbearing government on our platform.

Oh, and someone else caught an important detail I missed: "Civil War" again, ties it to racism. It should not be likened to the Civil War, but the Revolutionary War.

And, the rest goes on to just tie it to racism and the right-wing to scare all the lefties and people in the middle who aren't paying attention, and to continue to paint the right as the enemy of the State in a Presidential voting year cycle because, "unbiased and fair reporting".
