My sexual exploration through the Zodiac led me to a deeper dive into Astrology.
As I've stated in other posts, what I'd observed in the signs of the men I was interacting with was pretty accurate (even if they, themselves, put no stock in the ideology). I have since come to find that astrological natal charts are a scarily accurate predictor of one's nature and astrological forecasts seem to hold some validity as accurate predictors of how the movement of other celestial bodies in our solar system will impact our mood, emotions, and psyche. While there is mysticism around the ideology as a whole, which I do not subscribe to, it makes sense to me that if we can observe the impact of our nearest celestial body, the moon, on the inhabitants of the earth, why would the other celestial bodies not also have an impact on us, albeit, to a subtler extent?
While fucking my way through the Zodiac, I had a number of useful reference sites I regularly trafficked for information on sun sign compatibility:
1. Astrology Zodiac Signs - I liked that this site broke the compatibility down to various important aspects of a relationship: Sexual & Intimacy, Trust, Communication & Intellect, Emotions, Values, Shared Activities, and an overall Summary, including a handy percentage visual beneath each grouping.
2. iZodiac Signs - similarly included a handy percentage visual and broken the compatibility down to Romance & Love Life, Sexuality & Physical, Intellectual & Communication, Strengths and Weaknesses, and a General Compatibility which included gender-specific information.
3. AstroStyle - One of my favorite references because it included a break down of compatibility by the sun sign's astrological Elements, Qualities, Polarities, and Aspects, in an easy to access format.
4. Horoscope Compatibility - I liked this one because it broke the compatibility down by gender.
5. Compatible Astrology - I liked that this one showed the compatibility in easily accessed bar graphs.
6. Astrology.com.au - Each sun sign can be broken down into two to three subgroups which all share the same general sun sign characteristics but their place near or away from the cusps of their semisextile signs impact small differences. This site's compatibility included a section at the end describing which subgroups were easier or harder connections. That information gave me food for thought and something further to observe.
Since diving deeper into astrology apart from my sexual journey, I've begun to utilize a few other resources:
1. AstroTheme - this website allows for a free and detailed natal chart analysis and uses your natal information for its forecasts, making it a more individualized forecast than a site just looking at the general sun sign. The site is information-rich and requires a mind that can synthesize larger amounts of information so, it's not for those who are looking for a quick summary, but if you want to dive in, this is the site. The forecasts are segmented by your daily mood, which, as you'd expect, often changes daily and sometimes throughout the day; the tendency of your day: fast transits, or the inner planetary impacts, these hang around for a couple of days; and your main planetary climate or "slow-transits" of the outer planets which hang in your forecasts for longer periods of time. After some time, you will notice fast and slow transits rise and fall through the chart. They rise as they become prominent and fall as they become less significant.
2. Astromatrix - another site/app which shares forecasts based on your astroloical natal chart. It has a fun graphic format with so much information. Again, you will need to be someone who can synthesize. This will not be fun for people who are just looking for a quick summary. Almost everything you see can be clicked on for a more detailed explanation - however, a payment will be due for unlimited access to this function. As this is my current intellectual focus, I found the information well worth the fee of $20 for lifetime access. There are several very handy charts and graphics and the division of forecasting is astoundingly handly. One of my favorite features in the daily moon forecast. It documents the movement of the moon and its impacts as the day advances. Might I feel a sense of calm at 8 am while a sense of agitation by 6 pm? The forecast is fabulously helpful for putting a buffer between me and what I might be feeling throughout the day. Also included with membership is the ability to journal on any of the detailed forecasts you can bring up. That has been a great help to me in my exploration.
3. Cafe Astrology - has a pretty good, free, though not as detailed as the resources above, natal chart analysis summary. While the forecasts are general sun sign summaries, they are often pretty accurate. I do like this site's breakdown of the monthly and yearly forecasts. They are careful to include transiting dates and what they could mean for the sign. It's a good site for people who want some accuracy but need someone else to summarize the information.
4. Astrology.com - while not the most detailed or accurate of the resources listed here, the app, in particular, breaks down the forecasts into several handy categories. It's a fun and lighthearted app to explore and it's more accurate then several others I've found.
Anyway, I hope that this list is helpful for anyone wanting to take a dive into astrology.
