1 year ago I arrived in Korea. 1 year ago I had not even been on a plane yet.

A lot of good and bad things came together at the right time and a great friend gave me a gentle push out the door and I embraced a risk that could have completely failed. The year in Daegu has been really good...not perfect...but I feel like I'm where this is where I've been led.

The things I've experienced in the past year are enough to fill several lives. I love my job at Sonsam; it is such a great school and I actually enjoy going to work; Pyeongchang Olympics with my best friends over here and finally seeing a luge course in real life; seeing castles and temples in Japan, jungles and temples of Taiwan; visiting the Pacific Ocean, and riding trains all over Korea, Japan (the bullet trains awesome), and Taiwan; eating more food than I can remember; seeing the sun rise on the other side of the world; meeting dozens of fellow travelers each with a unique story; commiserate with the broken; and being graced with an amazing church family (You brothers and sisters have helped me in more ways than you know). I thank everyone so much.

Pray for me in the coming year, which will no doubt be filled with more stresses, challenges, and tears, but more joy, personal growth, and good memories too.
