My new blog series will present basic ideas about teaching music to students of all levels.
The Sound-First Approach
The issue of paramount importance when teaching music is ensuring that students understand their first priority is producing a good sound.
I claim that there are only two things you need to do in order to master a stringed instrument:
1. Put your finger in the right place.
2. Make the string vibrate the way you want it to.
If you can do those two things, you will be a world-class string player. I welcome anybody to challenge me.
