Remember: California built a 400 mile canal from North to South for water.
Remember: America built an 800 mile long pipeline in the heart of Alaska for oil.
WE CAN DO THIS
Wake up America. We don't build anything great anymore. When is the last time we built a damn like the Hoover, a bridge like the Golden Gate, and did you know the Empire State Building was a public works project? We don't build great things anymore. We need to change that. And we need a wall. I don't like the 30 foot to 40 foot straight up "uglies" that Trump toured a few months ago. $25 billion for that? Really; come on man.
What we need is the "Taj ma Wall." We need a monster wall. We need a massive wall. We need far more than a wall. We need the wall of all walls. So here is the outline for you and its going to cost a bundle - so what:
1. A 2 lane highway one way on each side. Make sure there is room for expansion, emergency lanes and drainage so you are looking 60' of right of way on each side (120' of depth).
2. A rail line. We can use high speed rail or we can get on with the Hyperloop either way we can ship people and products 2,000 miles in 8 hours or less. Hey guess what - that is faster then going down to the Panama Canal, crossing through, and coming back up to Los Angeles. Why not unload in Texas and have the freight shipped to Southern, CA in 8 hours? The right of way for a rail line - 60'.
3. Now for that wall. Imagine this for a moment when you look up and see what the Chinese built. We construct compressed earth bricks right on site so there is little shipping, trucking and it's all built out of the earth right on the spot. We need 80' of width - yes that's right - 80 feet of width for that wall. In some spots we may want a 100' of width. Next up we need a minimum of 100 feet high and in some spots we may go 200 feet high! Now that's a WALL baby. That's a monster wall. We need that because we got more! With drainage you need 120' of width all the way.
4. On the south side of that wall are solar panels. Now I know how you hate math so I'll do it for you. A mile has 5,280 linear feet. Solar panels are 3' tall. If we apply 60 feet of solar panels high its 20 panels high. If they are 2'5 feet wide there would be 2,112 side by side in a mile times 20 high. That would be 42,000 (rounding down) panels per mile. Multiply by 1900 miles (some spots it won't work and you have 79.8 million panels. It takes about 40 panels to power up a small home so we just created electricity for almost 2 million homes. No extra right of way (land) needed. By the way if 2 million homes pay $75 a month for electricity the wall just made a $1.8 billion annual return.
5. Texas and Louisiana have water problems, they flood, and need to dispose of water and we can help them. We take the water to reservoirs near the wall, and then we pipeline it 2,000 miles to Southern, CA where they can never get enough water. The pipeline goes inside the wall and will need some lift stations here and there to help it gravity flow that massive distance. This is why the wall goes up to 200' in some spots so we can lift the water and let it flow West to CA and reduce floods in Texas. We need some reservoir space in Texas otherwise no more right of way for the wall is needed.
6. We're just getting started here. On top of the "taj ma wall" is an 80' wide pathway. Can you say "tour de north america" the ultimate 2,000 miles bike race, and the people who'd just want to make it a life's mission to ride the wall path will be world wide. What a tourist attraction that will be.
7. Think about that wall. 80 feet wide. 100 to 200 feet high. The pipeline in the bottom isn't going to be more than 10' tall and some if it will be in the ground even lower. There is a LOT of space in there, and in urban areas it can be a hotel, it can be retail space, and it could even be housing. What would a cool 80' long by 20' wide condo "in the wall" be worth? One side gives you a view of America and the other side Mexico! Wow that's housing like we've never had before and a lot of it. After all there is an industry that's going to maintain this wall, retail, tourism, and they will need housing! Space rentals for businesses will help to maintain the wall so tax payers don't have too.
But wait what about the rural areas? Well those areas will be open to resorts who want to build inside the wall for rural tourism, and they will target the best scenery and have highways right too them. In some areas where the view isn't all that and no one wants to build a hotel we can build warehouse space and store commodities and goods as needed. There is going to a be a ton of space. Imagine 1,500 miles of it being rural. Remember 5,280 linear feet. Reduce that to 1,400 miles and reserve 100 for resorts. We're talking over 500 million square feet of warehouse floor space that is probably 60' high on average. WOW. If we only develop half of the warehouse space and rent it for 10 cents a square foot its $300 million a year to maintain the wall.
8. Need it fast. We need to build this fast. We need to build it in 5 years or less. To me that means you hire teams to build a mile. Rural teams build 2 miles in 5 years and urban teams build one. That means you probably need 1,250 teams. Each team probably needs to be about 400 people who work 36 hours in 12 hour shifts. 3 days on 4 days off. 100 work a shift. That means 4 shifts a week. It means 500,000 jobs. Its expensive. 500,000 people, 5 years, means 2.5 million salaries of about $80,000 a year each including benefits. That is $200 billion over 5 years and we haven't bought an ounce of materials. This will cost $500 billion I'm sure. I know the haters hate on that but $500 billion over 5 years is $100 billion a year and that is exactly 2.5% of the current United States Budget each year. My GOD man we could take 100% out of the defense budget since it defends our nation. Most of Trump's fans believe in the wall - so lets have a tax for the wall or at least part of it! Once its done there will be no added burden on America. Solar power sales, renting space, user fees on cargo transports, etc etc and the wall will pay for itself.
There is is folks. The taj ma wall. Come on America lets build something GREAT AGAIN. #all #wall #minds #trump #america
