Would you prefer to spend a year as a cop, or a teacher, in an inner-city neighborhood?

It would have to be teacher for me, because I think cops have a lot of negativity to deal with daily, whereas a teacher can make a huge difference to young minds, if only for a short time, and against unseeming odds.

But what would you do?
