Should Donald Trump have criticised Theresa May and her actions?

No doubt, many Trump supporters would feel great to have Donald Trump coming to our country and criticising what the Prime Minister is doing, even saying how her former Foreign Secretary, Boris Johnson, would be a great prime minister, and what Sadiq Khan is supposed  to be NOT doing about terrorism. But that pronouncement was very wrong on so many levels.

First, we are hosting his visit, and if you visit someone's home who is generous to have you there, you don't insult them into the bargain.

Second, Britain is not a satellite or state of the US. It is an independent sovereign country, which makes those remarks highly inappropriate for a so-called ally. The least we expect is courtesy, even if we disagree on issues.

Third, how would Trump react if Theresa May visited America and proclaimed how badly Trump was running the country, what a better president Hillary Clinton would be, how gun crimes are out of control, and how the White House administration is a shambles? How would he feel, and what would he do?

He crossed a line on his visit, then tried to backtrack, which makes him so superficial and unreliable. A truly disgraceful figure for a president.

But what do you think? Courtesy and civility expected.
