Red Letter Weekend! :o)

Tomorrow I achieve another milestone in my amazing life. I will be in London receiving a doctorate from the Open University for my pioneering diversity work in the UK. The citation actually says: "For her exceptional contribution to education and culture, and protecting and enriching Britain’s diversity landscape."

Wow! It sounds like someone else. I don’t know about being ‘exceptional’ but I have certainly enjoyed my career. To say that I am amazed, excited, thrilled, humbled and nervous all in one, is an understatement, though I think my boyfriend is even more nervous and excited than I am!

I was the first Black graduate of the University over 35 years ago, which led me to Cambridge University and my pioneering inclusion work in industry and public services. I am proud of my various honours, but this one is very special to me, for a variety of reasons, so I wanted to share it with my Minds friends too.

I am hoping to have a great time, and look forward to sharing the pictures with you. Hope your weekend goes superbly too! :o)
