We are all acquainted with history and with the people who inspire us. But all we have heard about them has come through second hand stories, the media and other people. If you had the opportunity to spend ONE DAY with just TWO well known personalities who are no longer living, who would they be, and why?
They can be anyone you choose but they can't be relatives.
For me, this is a very hard choice with so many people I would wish to connect with to get their stories but the two who fascinate me most are:
1. Abraham Lincoln: The 16th president of the United Staes and, arguably, used to be the most famous. So much is written about him and he is quoted so often too, it would be nice to know what really happened in his time and what he thought of some of the things happening now in his country, especially what he thought of a Black man being President! It would certainly be an eye-opener to get his perspective on current life and his.
2. Amy Johnson: The first British woman to fly an airplane. On May 5th, 1930, Amy flew solo across the Atlantic to Australia. She flew at a time when women were firmly second class citizens and her ambition would have been greeted with derision from the men. Coming from a middle class family helped her, but it would be really great to hear her side of the story, especially how she died (she drowned in mysterious circumstances) and who was the third person with her in the water. This lady had a lot of pluck and courage and I would love to hear her story.
Over to you!
