Recently a new update hit the market of the Minds network called "Rate Limits"the guiding line on these limits is that they are to help with the bot influx on the network. However this is just not true.

First what is a "bot" in the cyber world?

"A bot (short for "robot") is an automated program that runs over the Internet. Some bots run automatically, while others only execute commands when they receive specific input. There are many different types of bots, but some common examples include web crawlers, chat room bots, and malicious bots." - TechTerms

All of these so called bots run off an algorithm, for the creator to adjust the algorithm to X likes per day X subs per day and X comments per day allowing them to stay inside whatever current rules of limits are set is no issue. So in other words Minds has handed bots an algorithm they are allowed to work with while punishing any real user that goes beyond what the guidelines are, and this will be the concept for all time here.

The current system punishes users for interactions, basic social media activities, not to mention speech and and expression of the community at large by limiting the account likes, comments, and subs throughout the network for users. This for years has been the reason I joined Minds to voice my option and get it see by all my subscribers freely and I just can't support this system.

The current system {Algorithm for you bots}

Tokens

With the new limit system that limits interactions from users, this also limits the community pool for Minds token that distribute back to the user for boosts, p2p wires and general activity's on the network.

Suggested System

I have asked for this system in a user based model. (Something that Minds thinks is to complex for users).

In this case you would be able to go to settings, rates, and set limits per user for you account so users would no longer be able to interact with your channel for an assigned amount of time I would have Minds set to something like this per user:

Settings, Rates:

Subscribers

- 20 per five minutes

- 250 per hour

-600 per day

Upvote

- 1,500 per five minutes

- 1,000,000 per day

Downvotes

- 20 per five minutes

- 200 per day

Comments

- Unlimited tell blocked

- Unlimited tell blocked

Of course you would be able to set your own rates according to your traffic and activity on your account. This does a few things.

1.) Doesn't limit you on the network only on the user when set.

2.) Removes any set algorithm to follow that bots can exploit.

3.) Gives back basic social media activities, speech and expression.

Issues with users system:

It doesn't stop the bots from not setting these values and trying to exploit via each-other, for this I would recommend a network traffic identifier for your social media site to analyze the influx of these bots to your site and combat them in this way.
