With the new Call of Duty dropping in a few days, let’s take a look at one of its biggest influence and competitors, PUBG, compares to Activision/ Treyarch's six hundred pound gorilla in the room.
1. Faster Pace
The speed in which matches start and are carried out in Blackout is at least 4 times faster than those of PUBG. Right from a wingsuit jump, you know these matches are going to be heavy, quick, and ready to move on to more. Jump in, shootout, and win to the last man standing!
2. Cleaner Graphics
It doesn’t take a computer scientist to figure out that Black Ops 4 looks way better than PUBG. It’s the difference between a Ford F-350 and a Daewoo. And yeah, PUBG uses the fabled Unreal Engine 4, but COD has its own in-house engine, giving you that silky COD feel since Modern Warfare! And while PUBG has been out since the Infinite Warfare period, giving Treyarch 2 years to really get it good, PUBG has been the same for over a year now!
3. More Players
Sure, PUBG had upwards of 3 million concurrent players with over 50 million copies sold, but Call of Duty as a franchise has that outsold by five times over! With the addition of PS4 players, COD: BO4 can win the numbers game, if it both recaptures its old audience and gains a new one.
4. Variation
From guns, classes, load-outs, and even those sweet, sweet cosmetics, COD will have way more in content than PUBG. you can change your outfits slightly in PUBG, but BO4 will let you change everything you care about, like your weapon and skills. And it’s not just the battle royale mode, you got your usually fantastic multiplayer, and a healthy round of zombies to boot!
