Are Transkids the new Thalidomide?

Before we begin, I want to say that there are many good trans individuals out there who just want to live their own lives. These same individuals are often disgusted with the way activists have co opted their identity and use it as a weapon for social change. They are not the sjw transtrenders infecting tumblr and other sites. So please, don't use this as to attack a trans individual. Now, onto the article. 

In the 1950s, thalidomide was the new wonder drug. It was marketed to pregnant women as a way to say bye-bye to that pesky morning sickness. To the drug’s credit, it was actually pretty effective. It became extremely popular in European countries like Germany and UK, but was never approved by the American FDA. While physicians began noticing alarming birth defects occurring in the children of women who had taken drug in the late 50s, it would not be until 1961 that the link between the drugs and the birth defects was finally proven. The company Chemie Grunenthal refused to address the concerns of consumers and doctors. It was only with an independent investigation that the drug was proven to cause spontaneous abortion for some mothers and underdeveloped limbs in newborns. The pharmaceutical giant was later brought to trial in the UK where it was stripped of its license and ordered to provided financial support to the victims. It would be decades before the mechanism behind the drug’s teratogenic effects were finally understood.

Around this same time, there was another wonder pill for morning sickness. This one was approved in the US and thousands of women would take it until the 1970s. This drug was Diethylstilbestrol (DES). DES was a sythetic estrogen that physicians thought would help prevent miscarriages and other pregnancy complications. Its estimated that up to 10 million women took this pill. It was shown to be completely ineffective, but it wasn’t until 1973 that the FDA told the medical community to stop prescribing it. In addition to premature births and miscarriages, the mothers were shown to develop vaginal cancers. Unlike thalidomide, the drugs effects have been shown to effect multiple generations with the daughters and granddaughters suffering increased rates of multiple cancers.

Today, we have new wonder drugs pushed onto the market. These wonder drugs are not being given to mothers hoping for an easier and safer pregnancy, but to a generation who is being told that truth is an illusion. This is a generation that has chosen to selectively blind itself to the failings of modern medicine. It loves to remind the public of the how early psychiatrists performed lobotomies on any patient they deemed a social deviant and forget the millions vaccines saved. So why would it be bothered that experimental hormone drugs have given thousands of women cancer? The new ideology demands that the public validates the feelings of a few people that will never have to deal with the consequences of these treatments. Like DES patients, these children will be at increased risk of cancer and have fertility issues if not outright sterilized. These are the outcomes that modern medicine is aware of, but with the relative novelty of such ‘treatments’ only time will let the public see the complete fallout of these actions. We could attempt to reason with these activists, explain that there is no long term data on the health of children who undergo gender treatments. We could try to explain that ‘transgenderism’ is for the most part a phase that 98% of children will grow out of. We could offer science, but it would be rejected as something immoral that rejects feelings. But in the end, would we be surprised? After all, these are the children of women who choose to fall into the patriarchal trick of child bearing. Its only just that they pay for their mother’s internalized misogyny as activists pave the way for a new moral world.
