Qilimanjaro is bringing the technology of quantum computing closer to everyone. Its vision is to create an ecosystem where quantum computing can be accessed at a low cost. At present, big names in the technology industry have extended efforts to get ahead on the quantum competition. Qilimanjaro is building a platform in which quantum computing is possible without your own quantum computer.

The Team

The team behind the platform are professionals that are leading the study of quantum information for more than a decade. They partake in the advancement of algorithms and devices in the quantum field. Most of the members of the Qilimanjaro team have careers in the academe and have been working at top universities such as the Universitat de Barcelona, MIT, Niels Bohr Institute, CQT, Stony Brook, ICN2 and BSC. The Qilimanjaro will base most of its scientific research at a state-of-the-art laboratory in Barcelona, Spain. 

The Project

The Qilimanjaro project is divided into two teams. The first one is the Qilimanjaro Computing Services (QCS) and the second one is the Qilimanjaro Software Services (QSS). Each team has its own goal that is different to the other. The QCS targets to build quantum computers through researching and the development of a cloud quantum computing service. The QSS on the other hand will concentrate on Software development and assessment services. Furthermore, the QSS will offer consulting about how to adapt to problems, code writing, and algorithm execution. It will also open doors to open source materials on quantum technology. Together, both teams success will boost the need for this advancement in today’s market. 

The Token

The token that will be used in this ecosystem is called QBIT. Token owners can use their QBITs to acquire professional assistance in translating problems through the logic of a quantum algorithm, to run algorithms on an annealing machine, and are given as incentives to developers for their contributions.

Qilimanjaro will make the QBIT secure against quantum computers through updates that will make it resistant unlike the other cryptocurrencies.

Now, how important is quantum computing really? How can we apply this technology to our everyday lives? How will it change the future?

Quantum computation can process and make sense of complex data and problems such as in the field of medicine and meteorology.

It will provide a sturdier security in terms of cryptography.
