The Rise of Socialism

It's a bit late at night and I should be well asleep at this point, however, after having watched a video of Sargon of Akkad's I felt inspired to start typing away. Today's topic is the rise of Socialism, in particularly the United States, and even more particularly about a woman by the name of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. This piece may spell doom and gloom for most of it, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, at least for those of us whom enjoy our liberty from those that govern us. As for those whom wish for government intervention or the rise of communion, then I suppose you can enjoy the victory and learn of a possible path to defeat.

For those unaware as to whom this young lady is, she defeated an incumbent in New York's 14th Congressional district and is a staunch socialist. Some of her policy positions include abolishing the United States Immigration Customs and Enforcement(ICE), tuition free education, universal healthcare, a job guarantee, and more. She is part of the Democratic Socialists of America, which also want the abolition of private property.

Now what's concerning about this? It isn't like the incumbent was arrogant and a fool, refusing to even go to the debates. The district is small and insignificant, so why should we care? The division of the votes were nearly half and half, granted not exactly, but not a landslide either as it is still a split population (approximately 42% of the vote against 57%.) The reason why we must worry is that this is only the beginning as a taste of victory has been given to a radical movement that is gaining steam.

It is a small movement, but the issue at hand is that Socialism in of itself, is for the ignorant and the helpless. It is for the few and powerful. It is for the governing to tyrannize and oppress the many through their own desperation. There are two main types of Socialists, the first is the Socialist who does not understand Socialism and the other is the Socialist who does.

The first type is the harmless sort, a drone in essence. He is ignorant of what he advocates for, what it implies, and what its result entails. This is of no fault of his own. For he is either arrogant and wishes not to learn, to see the truth that is before him, or he is desperate and does not know where to turn to. He is unaware of what will help him, what will bring him to salvation, and so he turns to government to ask for assistance, to ask for intervention. The arrogance that may lie within this sort of Socialist, is when given the ethical and moral arguments, given the application and the result, he still thinks his position to be right (granted I'm being biased, but I think humans have the inalienable rights to life, liberty, and property, and the positions of Socialism eradicates those inalienable rights.)

The other sort of Socialist is the dangerous sort, for they desire to rule, to become the oppressor that is the government. The Socialist that understands Socialism, that knows what they advocate for, the abolition of private property, the abolition of a person's ownership of their own labor(as they'd force them to work,) and the intervention of government who would handle the means of production and distribution of goods, simply desires power. There is no goodwill in their hearts, for at least the man with arrogance wishes to do good, thinking he is right, but he who knows wrong and yet commits wrong, is the vilest of man. He wishes to simply control, knowing full well that he becomes the government, that if a commune is to arise, he benefits fully while those around him suffer. It is the organizer that becomes the most powerful under Socialism, it is the man who knows what he advocates for and yet advocates for it anyways knowing what lays at the end of the road for him if he is to succeed.

Now why is it important to know the two types of Socialist, the one who unbeknownst to him is being used by his fellow man in order to gain political and economic power and the monster who wishes to abuse his fellow man in order to gain such; It is important because Socialism in of itself manifests through this. Socialism isn't loved or backed because of its success or its nature. It's loved and backed because of what it promises, particularly to the desperate and the ignorant. It's a tool for a man or group to gain political and economic power, using those less fortunate in a politically expedient manner. Promising them something better, they will give what they did not have and perhaps what they did not deserve, in exchange for their fervent support. That is why Socialism is still alive in the world, a roach that just won't die.

Socialism comes to rise, seeing a crack it can seep through. Capitalism is a beautiful thing and it just so happens that within it there must be people less off, either deserving of it or the luck of the draw(and those who have the unfortunate luck always have the opportunity to turn it around,) so Socialism uses those people especially. In Capitalism people are easily educated and are taught Socialism and so the arrogance of ignorance arises, having learned about it, but not truly understanding it. It is an odd relationship, a parasitic one. Socialism uses Capitalism to stay afloat in every manner, especially in its rise, allowing the roach to reproduce faster than it can be killed off.

So how does this lady winning speak of a gloomy future? It shows that Socialism is seeping through the cracks, that there are people taking advantage of their fellow man's desperation, their ignorance, and their arrogance. They take advantage of the goodwill of good people who want what they believe is the right thing. The winning of such a small congressional seat shows that Socialism is rising and that whoever is leading it, has aspirations to rule, to oppress, and tyrannize over his fellow man with absolute power.

I didn't hit every point I wished to in this piece, as a matter of fact, I hit nothing I actually wanted to. I wished to discuss more on Trump and possible reelection as well as possible third parties coming into the fray due to splintering party lines, however, this ended up being a lot more general on Socialism as a whole, so I apologize. I'll write a part two I suppose tomorrow as it's late at night and I need to get some sleep.
