This is a book review of "Ever Wonder Why?" (and Other Controversial Essays) by Thomas Sowell.
It is without a doubt that Thomas Sowell is a brilliant man. That is attested by the numerous quotations of his that one can find here on Minds. I am one of this who have posted his quotations.
Thomas Sowell is an economist. But don't worry, only one part (albeit, the largest part) of this book is on economic issues.
This book was published in 2006 and it is a collection of his syndicated columns carried in newspapers across the country. One can read these columns randomly, in parts, or serially like a book (which I did.)
These columns are grouped into 8 parts: The Culture Wars, Economic Issues, Legal Issues, Political Issues, Social Issues, Education Issues, Racial Issues, and Random Thoughts.
These columns represent his views, observations, and experiences in life.
It is a good thing that I do almost all of my reading in electronic format. I like to highlight and make personal notes while reading. My wife commented that I might as well have highlighted the entire book. Yes, it's that good.
