This is a review of "Civilization One" (The World Is Not What You Thought It Was) by Christopher Knight and Alan Butler.

It all starts with Alexander Thom who discovered that structures left behind by Stone Age man had been built using a standard unit - the Megalithic Yard. These structures are scattered throughout the British Isles and parts of Europe.

Unfortunately, he died in 1985 without being able to explain why and how. His discovery annoyed the world of archaeology which dismissed him and his discovery because it did not fit their view of our past history.

It took the research work of the authors to confirm Thom's discovery. The megalithic yard is very real and it is a geodetic unit, i.e., derived from the geometry of the earth itself.

Across the great civilizations of Minoa, Sumeria, Babylon, Egypt, Indus Valley (Harappa), and the measurements of the Imperial, Metric, and even the ones proposed by Thomas Jefferson (not adopted) were linked to the megalithic yard.

What is very fascinating is that the megalithic geometry works not only for the Earth, but also the Moon and the Sun but not the other planets. Perfectly. Too perfectly.

The Stone Age people were not that sophisticated to come up with the megalithic yard. Was it taught to them and other civilizations by a third party - perhaps the Watchers?

The authors also describe the relationship of the megalithic yard to music and light. There definitely appears to be a plan. Civilization One?

Read this fascinating book.
