What is Rock?

Renaissance.

It's freedom, anarchy, it unites people, skin color, religion, sexes, ages, it passionates and moves to emotion. Rock is a quality, it's not just music, dance, fashion, idea. It's the human evolution in practice. All those who changed the world ahead and beyond were rock, before rock.

Socrates and Plato were rock. Christ and the Buddha were rock. Dalai Lama was rock. Einstein was rock. Marilyn was rock. Comics were rock. The first car, the plane, the electricity, the phone were rock. The internet was rock. And now the blockchain is rock. Science, Art is rock. Love is rock.

Everything that has always made people come together without caring about their differences is rock. And what is rock becomes always a subject to a cycle that begins with apotheosis and fanaticism and ends up in slander and persecution. At first it's deified and then gets demonized. And when it's demonized, it falls into desolation. It divides and stands and becomes motionless. And then, it's not rock anymore.

Only when it begins to move again with passion and emotion towards freedom, anarchy, reconciliation of people, unification of skin color, religions, sexes, ages, only then, it will become rock again. After rock.

What is not rock?

Middle Ages.

Rock is not what moves and traps people in one direction only, and keeps them stationary in an idea and a way of life that stays limp and divides.

Crusades were not rock. Nazis were not rock. Mao Tse-Tung was not rock. Kim Jong-Un is not rock. The European Union is not rock. Trump is not rock. Money is not rock. Religious fanaticism is not rock. Nationalism is not rock. Racism is not rock. Sexism is not rock. Football hooliganism is not rock. Factionalism is not rock. Fascism is not rock.

Everything that makes people think that themselves and their team are better than others are not rock. Whatever always divided people is not rock.

Whatever makes people go backwards.

We live in an age that is not rock.

It's not even music. It's a scream.
