What a wildcard! The Toyota Supra will replace the Camry for NASCAR's sub-league Xfinity Series for the 2019 season. The new auto will be crafted by TRD USA and Calty Design Research, using styling cues from the Gazoo Racing Supra concept displayed at Geneva in March 2018.
As a move to promote the upcoming road-going Supra, Toyota is sending the Supra Nascar racing in 2019.
The Xfinity Supra has a pointy-nose fascia and exterior lighting designs that began with Toyota's 2014 FT1 concept. Below, you'll discover a NASCAR-spec tube-frame chassis, a carbureted 700BHP pushrod V8, plus a four-speed manual transmission.
Toyota's latest Xfinity entry is composed by Calty Design Research of Newport Beach, California alongside Toyota's North American racing division. (TRD).
The predecessor of Supra (Camry) that has fielded in the Xfinity Series since 2007, racking up four manufacturer titles and 142 victories in the process. Toyota stated, "Currently, four Xfinity teams use Toyota-branded cars".
The all-new Toyota Supra Nascar Xfinity Series will debut on Daytona International Speedway at February 16th, 2019.
My thoughts on the Toyota Supra Nascar
In April 2017, the Toyota Gazoo Racing Supra debuted on Gran Turismo Sport. Yesterday, Toyota stated the Supra would be in Nascar's Xfinity Series. Toyota confirmed the Supra would debut Goodwood's Festival of Speed 2018.
The question is, why didn't the Toyota Supra debut on the Tokyo Motor Show in 2017, or the Detroit Motor Show 2018. The Toyota Supra would have been a hero car for both Motor shows. Primarily, the 2018 Detroit Motor Show.
When the Toyota Supra debuts at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, it won't get as much receive as much attention as if it debuted at the Tokyo Motor Show, or the Detroit Motor Show.
Many fans and news publications were ready for the rebirth of Supra. We also saw spy shots of the Supra driving around. What a shame the Supra didn't debut at Tokyo Motor Show or the Detroit Motor Show.
Thankfully, the Toyota Gazoo Racing Supra arrived on Gran Turismo Sport's 1.18 update with the Dragon Trail Gardens. Both car and new circuit were excellent.
Having the Toyota Supra race in Nascar is a gift and a curse. A gift because of the Supra (NSX) would feature on many television screens and be on video games such as Nascar 2019 and Forza Motorsport 8.
A curse because of the viewership of Nascar is dwindling down. Thanks to people cancelling their cable sports memberships and the competition of Formula 1.

Conclusion
In a nutshell, the Supra is a wildcard! I wouldn't expect a Japanese sports car to participate in Nascar. Maybe an executive saloon like the Camry. I'd assume fans would prefer the Mustang and Camaro.
In my opinion, the Supra is fit for European roads and the mountains of Japan. However, since the emissions tests are getting tougher, maybe the Supra will prove me wrong. I hope it does.
