Saleen unveils the S1 here's the facts and opinions

Saleen are known for tuning Ford Mustangs and the S7/S7 Twin Turbo, "America's first hypercar". It's been eleven years since Saleen created an original car since the S7 which was discounted in 2006.

The Saleen S1 will be manufactured by Jiangsu Saleen Automotive Technology Group, a joint-venture formed by Saleen and its chinese partners. The Chinese connection will provide additional funds and production capacity for the S1.

Specs

The Saleen S1 will launch in Summer 2018 for a price tag of £75'000 and a deposit of £750. The Saleen S1 top speed is 180mph, pounds-feet of torque 375lbt and a 0-60mph of 3.5 seconds.

Thanks to the aluminium tub chassis the weight of this car is 1,218kg. This car can reach a maximum lateral cornering force of 1.2G.

My opinions 

I wish the Saleen S5 Raptor replaced the S7 but sadly it didn't happen. The S1 looks 5 years old and too generic. This car isn't complete but my suggestions for the Saleen S1 is... 

1. Make it look wilder.

2. Boost the specs.

Conclusion

If it can on the parts I've mentioned it might be a 7/10. Thank goodness it's not an SUV or one million mile per hours supercar. This car is generic compared to the S7 or S5 Raptor, all it needs is heart, power, wakkyness and quality like the Porsche 718 cayman or Alfa Romeo 4C.
